A great way of tasting a wide range of our wines & ensuring you have access to our limited quantities is by joining our Club. Howard Anderson has over 55 years experience in the wine industry, including 50 years making Sparkling wines. His daughter Christobelle studied winemaking in Adelaide and has worked in several wine regions in France.

Members receive 10% off all purchases, and free freight* on all orders of 6 bottles or more. Do you have some of our older wines in your cellar but aren't sure when they'll be at their best? Should you drink it now, or will it cellar for a few more years?
Services
Despite having no family connections with the wine industry, Howard's first job after completing High School was as a trainee winemaker in a family winery in NSW. Howard gained enormous experience as a Senior Winemaker during his 14 years at Seppelt Great Western, who at the time were one of Australia's major Sparkling wine producers.
When Howard established his own vineyard, he always wanted it to be dryland (unirrigated). In his prior experience as a winemaker for other companies, he had seen over and over again that grapes from dryland vineyards make better wines (particularly full bodied red wines). It is well documented that when grapevines experience a certain degree of water stress they produce wines with more flavour and better structure (including aging potential).
Bookings are essentialfor all events and can be made by calling the winery on 02 6032 8111. Payment is required to secure a booking. 2021 is an exciting year for us, not only because our wine dinners are back after the hiatus that was 2020, but because we are celebrating Howard's 50th year of making Sparkling wines!
Please note that all these suggestions are assuming you have good cellaring conditions. If you do not have a good cellar (constant temperature under 20°C), then you should not keep any wine longer than a couple of years. We recommend you drink our sparkling whites within about a year of purchase.
We are only a very small winery, but we boast a large range of wines. We have 8 different grape varieties in our vineyard, which is only 8 and a half hectares in size! Even within these 8 varieties, we have 3 different ranges (or price points), plus sparklings and fortifieds. We don't make all of these price points every year, but it's still a lot of small batches!

A true gem of Rutherglen! 💎💎 Anderson Winery has a unique way of doing things and it shows in the final product! My girlfriend and I were blown away with the quality of each bottle we purchased. A trip to rutherglen wouldn't be complete without dropping by this place!

A very nice selection of wines. The owners were all too happy to give a very informative talk about all their wines and the region characteristics.
