The lower back is the area of the spine between the bottom of the ribs and the pelvis. There are five movable lumbar vertebrae with discs in between them. They are supported by strong surrounding muscles and ligaments with spinal nerves existing between each of the vertebrae. The pelvis articulates with the spine and provides additional stability and support for the spine.
The Iliotibial band is a thick tendon that inserts on the outside of your knee. The function of the Iliotibial band is to help slow movement and torque at your knee during impact. Iliotibial band syndrome is a common cause of knee pain in runners. The cause is repetitive trauma to the Iliotibial band insertion on the outside of the knee resulting in tendonitis and severe lateral knee pain while running.
Knee pain or knee injuries are extremely common, and there are many causes. The knee needs to function properly to provide flexible mobility while bearing considerable weight. While walking down the street, our knees bear three to five times our body weight. Many jobs, sports and recreation activities, getting older, or having a disease such as osteoporosis or arthritis increase the chances of having a knee problem.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics 6 out of 10 children aged between 5 and 14 years participate in organised sports. Still more participate in informal recreational activities. Although sports participation provides numerous physical and social benefits, it also has a downside: the risk of sports-related injuries.

Got an appointment the same morning i called up. Steven was great. He took the time to explain to me about Osteopathy as i hadn't been before. He clearly communicated about everything that he was doing all steps of the way and did an awesome job. I left without the restricted feeling in my upper back\neck for the 1st time in a very long time. I have been looking for a long time for someone who can effectively treat my issues and he did just that.

I have been visiting the clinic to see Steven from time to time for over a year and he is absolutely fantastic!! Very friendly and takes time to really listen and understand my concerns and always leaves me feeling much better than when I walk in. I first saw Steven on an emergency visit due to a back issue that had me in intense amounts of pain to the point where I couldn't function normally, he fit me in and worked wonders. I couldn't recommend this place any higher!!!
