Formed in 1998 the Property Funds Association of Australia (formerly ADPIA - Australian Direct Property Investment Association) was established to provide the growing number of direct property investors and managers with an organisation to represent their interests, promote their industry and provide a forum for research and education.
The association has grown and expanded its scope to also represent the advisors, consultants and representatives of property investors and managers. The Property Funds Association of Australia is the peak body representing the Australian unlisted wholesale and retail property funds sector.

As CEO of the PFA, which represents the interests of the Unlisted Retail Property Funds Management industry, Paul has regular contact with the Association's membership to gain a detailed understanding of their needs and concerns.Working closely with The Issues and Regulatory Committee, Paul meets with ASIC on a six monthly basis to ensure that industry issues are brought to the attention of the Regulator.

The Issues and Regulatory Committee is one of the key backbone committees of the Association. The PFA was originally established around a group of individuals representing businesses in the unlisted direct property investment space who did not have a voice with regulators regarding industry reforms.
