As an authorised RMS repair station, we service and repair all types of trailers. Whether your trailer is a box, boat, plant, custom, car, horse float, camper trailer or caravan chassis; if it is a trailer, we can repair it. We have a comprehensive range of parts available to suit all of our trailers and most other brand trailers.
I have designs in mind. What information can I prepare before meeting with FELK engineers to help with the process? This is a question we are asked on a daily basis, as everyone has different ideas and requirements from a prospective trailer. We encourage our clients to provide any drawings, designs, towing requirements (weight) and example photos of other trailers or features.
NSW Roads and Maritime Services requires any trailer over 2 tonne GVM (the weight of the trailer plus load) to have a breakaway system installed. This can be on either Electric or Hydraulic drum brake trailers or Hydraulic Disc on Boat Trailers. An in-cab controller is also required by RMS to be fitted to the tow vehicle, with a battery monitor to operate the braking systems.
FELK have a comprehensive range of parts available to suit all of our trailers and most other brand trailers. An annual service on your trailer may prevent an untimely breakdown, and may also save you unforeseen expensive repairs. Please book your trailer in for an annual service with our friendly staff.
The Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme (VSCCS) is a scheme that the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) have created to manage modified vehicles and trailers that require assessment and certification by someone who is accredited with the VSCCS program.
An accredited VSCCS certifier will possess the technical knowledge, competency and skills to understand if a trailer is compliant with the relevant Australian Design Rule (ADR), as well as the state legislature relating to the scope of works on the vehicle.Those who are accredited with the scheme act as representatives for the RMS to certify non-standard trailers.

Michael and the team at felk engineering were fantastic to deal with when ordering my box trailer, they kept in contact during the build process to keep in touch and on the day of pick up, were more than happy to spend the time ensuring the trailer sat level on my 4x4 (we flipped the trailer axle due to 4x4 being higher than standard) before i left with it, quality and locally built with Australian steel, this trailer will last me decades!

I need to store my 5m trailer sailer in a height restricted underground car park. This meant ditching the current trailer for one with a low-slung centreline to drop the height by 30cm. A rogue who will remain nameless who said he'd do it took a 50% deposit then promptly went to ground for 12 months with one lame excuse after another why he hadn't made a start until I realised he either wasn't up to the job or couldn't be bothered making the effort to design something to my specs, or had underestimated on the price and hadn't the guts to admit this. Ended up at Felk Engineering for my latest custom trailer build after approaching 4 other local suppliers. They have recently completed my new totally custom trailer build designed with multiple uses in mind and to provide maximum flexibility. The team working at Felk Engineering will go out of their way to solve a problem. They provided great support to help remove my oversize trailer from a truck with a forklift. From their they provided a thoroughly constructed quote to resolve previously unknown problems with the trailer after an engineering inspection. They also provided a quote on a new trailer with long warranties that would do the job even better. I look forward to working with them in future and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else with any trailer problems.

A really good experience. I wanted a trailer for the timber put-put I was restoring. I found the Felk website extremely informative and helpful. I commissioned a new trailer from them and took the boat along on its wonky old trailer for them to assess. The result is perfect. Felk fitted the trailer to the boat, adjusted and balanced it to ensure the pressure on the tow hitch was correct and the rollers correctly positioned. The trailer tows well, rides smoothly and the boat launches and loads easily.

Would like to advise anyone looking for tailer modifications etc. or a new trailer should contact Felk Engineering. Difficult to find a Design & Construct trailer company with the knowledge, know how and attention to detail. The team there are FANTASTIC and offer good old fashioned customer service. I recently picked up a boat trailer that we modified with rollers, new draw bar and dual wheels. It is 100% on the old trailer and now able to handle the harsh conditions that I subject it to. First contact was with Samantha for a quote which I felt was prompt and reasonable.

Thanks to Shane and the team at Felk for custom building a trailer for my tiny house on wheels.
