At Advance Floor Sanding we use high performance European and Australian machinery to achieve the best sanding results.
Staining is a process where we dye the timber to a darker/different color. You will still be able to see the grain, but it will completely change the color and the look of the timber. There are many varieties in colors and shades depending on what stain we apply and what type of timber you have, the same color can look different on different timber.
In many Australian homes solid timber floor is just a carpet away. As back in days floor sanding was not existing or wasn't widely available all those beautiful timbers has been just covered over with carpet, linoleum sometimes even tiles. Before we start sanding we need to remove all these Floor Coverings and dispose it at the nearest Waste Management Center.
Begining stages of flooring begin with a rough sanding of the floors to ensure the floorboards are in level and be able to have clean floorboards without; scratches, dirt and stain marks. Then using finer sandpaper we finish up the floors to provide optimum conditions for the coating process. The sanding process involves punching and filling all nail holes, cracks and and bigger gaps.
Gloss finish is not recommended in areas where big windows and slide doors are present, as they will show a lot of reflection in the room. Some hardwood floors tend to leak some tannin out from the timber at different moisture content, months after been polished, in those cases gloss finish is not recommended.

Bobby is awesome! I had a rough idea of what to expect price-wise and Bobby quoted me a very reasonable amount. I was very happy with his professional, personable approach and his willingness to work around my flexibility. He did an excellent job on our house with existing orange Cyprus-pine floors from the 1960s. The exisiting floors were in rough shape, worn and also patched from the removal of walls.
