It's our front yard. Coogee Beach. Accommodation at The Dive is just across the road. A park fringed crescent of beach sheltered by craggy cliffs and the aptly named Wedding Cake Island, just offshore. One of Sydney's most spectacular walks. With glistening rock pools rich in marine life, weathered rocky platforms, rugged cliffs and a brooding cliff-top cemetery.
This place is a gem - everything, the funky decor the scrumptious breakfast, friendly stuff plus gorgeous dogs. A heartfelt thanks from Margaret River WA for a memorable stay and look forward to returning. What a fabulous place to stay on my first visit to Australia - you set the benchmark high for others to follow.
Taxi is 8km from domestic terminal and 11km from international terminal to The Dive and usually takes 20-30 minutes. The cost is around $40-$60 but this will depend on traffic. The Eastern Suburbs Airport Shuttle runs between the airport and hotels in the area at a cost of $20 per person. They request that you call them on 1300 739 766 when you have landed so that they can direct you to a pickup point.

Amazing location. Really beautiful views right on the beach directly across from it and very close walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Rooms were interesting I had a bottom floor room and my family had a second floor room both facing the beach, there was a big difference in these rooms. Loved the really big windows they both had though. Nice little balconies for watching the waves crashing. My room was lacking in amenities there was a desk but no designated eating table, very little bowls, spoons etc. Nice tall roof height gave the room a good vibe though. Only had coffee satchels and

I have stayed here a few times in the past but won't be staying here again.
The position, across the road from the beach, is great and the previous owners really operated the hotel well and also kept the building maintenance up.
Now there is no breakfast offered, the rooms are really looking tatty (missing tiles in the shower, cracks in the ceiling, floorboards need a paint, couch in the room is torn etc etc?
It's disappointing that such a great place to stay has slipped so much.

Loved the easy location and ocean view room. Little balcony looking over the beach was perfect for afternoon drinks. Big comfy bed, clean.
Bathroom is cramped and needs better ventilation, more towels and somewhere to hang them to dry.
There were no pictures on the walls or mats on the floor, which seemed a bit sparse but that’s just a cosmetic thing.
We enjoyed our visit to Coogee, parked the car and didn’t drive again until we left. Everything is right there.
