As well as 28 motel suites, the hotel boasts a wide range of services and attractions including a Thirsty Camel bottle shop, Tatts Lotto, TAB, Fox Footy, a bistro that seats around 200, a post office and a pool table. We also have a courtesy bus available seven days a week. Centrally located at Thornton between historical Alexandra, the mountains of Marysville and the deep blue waters of Lake Eildon.

The present Rubicon Hotel was built on the same site in 1962 after the original was razed. The hotel was known as one of the largest and most modern in rural Victoria, having a capacity to accommodate 130 people. Darren and Shereen Thomas took over in mid 2013 and, under their management, the pub is taking on an open, relaxed, fun family feel.
The Hotel Motel has 28 air conditioned motel units (including 12 newly renovated 3 bedroom family units) with ensuite bathrooms. Each unit has TV, Foxtel and in-house movies, electric blankets, refrigerator, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities. The family units also have a microwave and iron/ironing boards.
Throughout the year you will be entertained by a variety of exciting entertainers from country and western to rock and roll and everything in between. The stage can accommodate everything from a one man bands to a small orchestra, so anything is possible. Tuesday mornings we have BINGO, eyes down at 10am sharp with all proceeds going to our local Thornton Eildon District Sports Club.
