Col Jones Swim School at Hurstville started operating in 1973. The business founders, Col and Ann Jones both have a background in education, teaching, as well as competitive sport. Their passion was to provide a local swim school for children of the St George area. Their desire was to have a family business with strong educational values as well as providing a professional service.
This philosophy still remains today as the backbone of the organisation's culture. The Col Jones family is certainly growing. We now have parents who were past students bringing their children in for lessons. In 1997 another Col Jones centre was opened in Tempe delivering lessons to the children of the inner west.

We used to go elsewhere where the instructors were just going through the motions. We came to Col Jones Hurstville on a friend's recommendation. After the first lesson we knew we'd found the place for us. The instructors are fantastic, friendly, good with the kids and provide good instruction. Definitely not just going through the motions. Our daughter made more improvement here in a few lessons than a whole year at the other place. I highly recommend this place.

Clean swimming pools are adequate in size for teaching you how to swim properly at different level. My daughter has been enjoying their lessons for about 1.5 years. As far as I can tell, all instructors follow the same training methodology quite closely and consistently. The friendly manager and staff make you feel welcome. This is a popular school and it can be a challenge to follow your preferred swimming instructor for continuity purposes. However, comfort lies with the overall high standard of their swimming instructors. Hope they will keep that up. I can understand why some would prefer a

Wonderful place for swimming lessons. It's a pool dedicated to learning to swim. You can't just rock up and have a splash. You can't just rock up to learn to swim either... This place is busy. You have to get assessed and then find an available timeslot which can get hard as they are very busy and fully booked. Note cheap but good quality facilities and instructors. Three pools to cater for all sizes from toddlers to adults. No mucking around but not stressed either. The staff are fantastic from there front desk to instructors to the bosses (the ones in the red shirts). They are all great with
