Attitude of one of the female staffs who worked on 21 October 2021, 8:10pm was disgusting and rude. Standing in store for about 5 minutes, looking at the menu and when I was ready to order only being told they are closed although she has acknowledged my presence when I first stepped into the store and they were supposed to close at 9pm! Should have told me they are going to close in the first instance rather than letting me wasting my time. Don’t ever patronage this store people. Will give 0 star if I could.

Very expensive and food not always as good as it should be at that price, smallest size of chips is far too large and staff had never heard of a bacon and egg toasted sandwich and tried to charge me for a steak sandwich with bacon and egg? The female Indian staff are regularly quite rude and don’t wear their masks properly or at all and never seem to know what they’re doing. However I will say the best potato cakes in Melbourne, nice chips and on a good day make a decent steak sandwich.

Used to order from here for years. Went in there this afternoon and decided it would be my last visit. All staff were wearing chin masks, none of them were wearing face masks. 1/5 for not being covid-safe. 4/5 as a place to catch covid, nice and cramped, no masks, asking for it really. Don't know if staff are vaccinated but that's mostly beside the point

Staff were incompetent and rude. All the staff had no idea what they were doing.
Ordered a burger add cheese and paid for that cheese and didn’t get the cheese.
Ordered a burger minus cheese, Mayo and bacon.
Got a burger with just chicken and lettuce on it with squirts of Mayo on top of the bun and inside the burger. The avocado and pineapple were completely missing from the burger.
Ordered that burger in a meal and got a Powerade instead of a can of drink, was charged the price of the meal and the price of a Powerade.
Even double confirmed with the staff about the additions and deductions

Usually love this place but so many people I know have told me how unclean they are.
Tonight I ordered off Uber eats, the Uber driver arrived and said he saw them touch the food with their bare HANDS, I can confirm I won’t be purchasing food from you until you have proper food safety and food handling process be done. This is disgusting and especially with how we are in a pandemic!!!!!!

A returning customer who attended store to order takeaway on a Friday night to be told after waiting and viewing the menu for a short for a selection that they where closed. The staff were not overly friendly. This was 20:32pm in the evening. Your loss, another companies gain, as I will not be returning to this store. Very disappointing with the shops staff, especially when opening hours advertised are till 22:00.

South Melbourne is a pricier area for take-away food, and this is somewhat reflected in the prices at South Melbourne Fish and Chip Shop. There are other fish and chip shops along Clarendon Street, making competitive options and delivering some of the same and yet different menu options. This place has the usual fare, with a few 'Asian' [their wording] inspired dishes added on.
Their food quality is consistent, portions are enough for 1 person, and I have only had one bad item across a three-year span. They continued to operate during the lockdown and made life at home a little more 'normal'.
