The founder, and namesake of our Company, ARTHUR SIDNEY HAROLD (ASH) CHAPMAN, did his apprenticeship in England. On moving to Australia, he worked with many of the original treadesmen who serviced Brisbane in the 1950's In 1956 he decided to start his own business, originally working at weekends in his garage, (it was ok to do that in those days).
With our trade skills, we can fix any part of any lounge, includling frames, springs, cushioning. Using a vast range of materials we can restore a period lounge to original glory or do a modern makeover. Further to our conversation today I want to tell you, my Parents have just been here. They absolutely loved the work on it and say the quality is such a high standard that it could easily sit in any museum they have ever visited the world over!
An ottoman is a piece of furniture consisting of a padded, upholstered seat or bench, usually having neither a back nor arms, often used as a stool or footstool, or, in some cases, as a coffee table. Ottomans are often sold as coordinating furniture with armchairs or gliders. Loose top cushion, 'mock' cushion, skirt, padded roll on the bottom, Tassel fringe, in fact any style of upholstery you can think of.
Ash Chapman Upholsterers love restoring dining chairs to bring them back to their original glory. After we have recovered, repadded, repaired your dining chairs they will be like new, (unless you want them to look old!) Our trades people can repair loose or broken frames, replicate missing parts and repolish the timber.
Not only does Ashchapman Upholsterers make new cushions for all types of lounges, including cane and pine suites. Replace broken or frozen zippers or fit new zippers to cushions that do not have them, so that you can remove the covers for dry cleaning. We have every grade and density of foam available and can advise you of the correct one for your needs.

Thank you David for making our dining room chairs look brand new again!
The original black faux leather vinyl that comes from China started peeling off after a few years so I took the chairs into Ash Chapman Upholsterers and David brought them back to life. He recommended a marine grade vinyl that made them look amazing with all the stitch work that was done to them. Now they will last as long as I want to keep them! The seat and back rests came up beautifully. So good in fact that we took our kitchen chairs to get the same treatment.
