Asbestos is a term that is commonly used to describe a number of different fibrous silicate materials. Up until as late as 1987 asbestos was still being used in a variety of building materials including flat fibro sheeting, corrugated fibro sheeting, pipes (including water pipes) roofing shingles and a variety of different types of guttering.
If you are renovating a Sydney home or commercial building and it was built prior to the 1980's then there is a good chance that some of the building materials used in its construction contain asbestos and you probably should organise for a professional to do some testing. Asbestos based products were used extensively throughout Sydney up until the late 1980's.
Asbestos related diseases from studies of people who were exposed to asbestos we know that breathing the fibers can lead to an increased risk of:Mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the chest and the abdominal cavity; andAsbestosis, in which the lungs become scarred with fibrous tissue. The risk of lung cancer and mesothelioma increases with the number of fibers inhaled.

No fuss service at a reasonable price. They took away 175sqm of bonded asbestos and left the place clean and tidy. There were no unexpected costs, and they even left the scaffolding up for me to continue using for the reclad.
Would recommend to anybody looking for reliable, reasonably priced Asbestos removal services.
