SportsMed Subiaco was established in 1998 with the vision of becoming the State's premier health care facility. Today, we continue that vision with excellence in the diagnosis and management of sporting and exercise-related injuries. Our practice has evolved to also excel in the management of musculoskeletal disorders e.g.
Patient care will not be discussed via email. This is not only a legal requirement, but ensures patients receive the appropriate time and care from their practitioner. A referral is recommended due to recent changes to the Medicare system where a patient that has been referred by a medical practitioner, such as a GP or specialist, a higher Medicare rebate will apply.
SportsMed Subiaco sports doctors now offer ultrasound-guided injection therapy with state-of-the-art Sonosite ultrasound technology, providing immediate results at the time of consultation. Injection types include Cortisone, PRP, Autologous blood & Viscosupplementation (Synvisc, Durolane). Patient assessment and treatment streamlined reducing the need for multiple appointments for patients.
Foot orthotics are commonly used in the treatment of a number of lower limb conditions. They act to alter abnormal biomechanical stresses on the components of the lower limb or to alter weight-bearing pressures on the foot. Our orthotics are manufactured from EVA, a high density composite foam material that is comfortable, user-friendly and suitable for a range of loads, foot pathology and activity levels.
Compartment Pressure Testing (CPT) is used to diagnose Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome, a common cause of exercise-related leg pain. Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome classically presents as a gradual increase in pain during continuous activity, exacerbated by increases in distance or intensity of exercise, often forcing the person to cease the activity.

I've been receiving treatment for various injuries and inflammation from Sportsmed for 5 years and couldn't recommend them enough.

I have been going to this clinic for physio and Pilates for 8 years and have always had very professional reception and treatment.
Recenly, I had a problem that had been troubling me for 5 years. I went to a Occ Therapist and another (gasp!) physio clinic.
Both helped me to a small degree but after biting the bullet and going back to Subi (I now live 45 mins away), physio, Michael Devine took the time to work out exactly what the problem was and how to treat it. With dry needling and daily exercises I am now mostly pain- free. I'm so pleased and relieved!

I have contacted this clinic 6 separate times to have a form filled in relating to a sports injury sustained at a sports centre to be able to claim back my $500+ bill on the sports centres private insurance, but they haven't gotten back to me and it's been a whole year. Thanks a lot clinic for costing me a fortune which is covered by insurance, but because of the clinics incompetence I cannot make the claim.

I would highly recommend the SportMed Subiaco practice for all your healthcare needs. I have been a patient there for over 2 years and I cannot recommend them enough. Their staff are friendly, caring and patient focused. From the welcome at reception, to the After Hours doctors I have seen, I have received outstanding service from start to finish. The physiotherapists are highly skilled, knowledgeable and treat ALL patients with well tailored individual programs. They go above and beyond for everyone and I can’t thank them enough for all that they do!

Really annoying and disappointing experience.
An appointment booked to be in 25 minutes, arrived in 10 minutes, means 15 for paperwork.
Then simply not announced...
They ran behind for more than half an hour! And appointment confirmed only 25 minutes before!!!
And not even told they are behind, even on arrival.
Annoying approach. Now just remember this is private practice which charges you directly, but not caring about you. Completely unacceptable from my point of view.
We left the practice and will never get back.

We've visited this clinic on a number of occasions for both myself and my children. The staff have always been friendly and attentive and the physiotherapists are great! The attention to detail in both diagnosing the issue and preparing a rehabilitation plan is without doubt, second to none. Mike Devine has treated our 8-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, and they think he's great. I highly recommend this clinic.
