Shae Rodgers is the founder and clinical director of Small TALK speech therapy. Shae graduated with Honours from The Newcastle University in 2008. She has been working in private practice with a special interest in helping children with Autism since her graduation. Children with complex communication needs are a great fit for Shae's vibrant, structured and innovative approach to intervention.
Rebecca Shelton (Bec) is the managing speech pathologist at Small TALK speech therapy. Bec has been working in private practice since 2012 with a special interest in assisting children with with complex communication needs. Bec has extensive experience using AAC with clients who are minimally verbal to help them find their voice.

We are passionate about outcome driven therapies that improve client participation in everyday life. Our team of speech pathologists are passionate about delivering effective evidence based services to clients of small TALK speech therapy. We believe that children are individuals and therefore the approach and intervention strategies used vary for each client.
A one page report is provided which summarises your child's observed strengths and areas of difficulty. Assessment and therapy recommendations. Up to 60min assessment session with your speech pathologist includes Oral Motor Assessment, single word assessment and conversational speech. Up to 60min assessment session with speech pathologist using a variety of standardised (CELF-5 Metalinguistics Assessment) and non standardised tools.
Children in the early intervention age range with language and/or speech disorders may be eligible for NDIS funding. Small TALK speech therapy are registered NDIS Service Providers and can cater to NDIS funded clients under a variety of plans including transdisciplinary packages and self managed packages.
At the conclusion of the consultation your speech pathologist will discuss her assessment recommendations. Small TALK speech therapy offer a wide range of assessment packages which are typically 1-1.5 hours in duration. Assessments are vital to gain a clear picture of your child's communication skills and develop your child's individualised therapy program.
Each and every child is unique which is why our speech pathologists tailor a written individualised therapy program specific to your child's needs, which is provided at the first therapy session. We recognise that as the child's caregiver you are the best resource and support for your child. We work collaboratively with you to identify your child's challenges and develop goals to build skills and address these challenges.
