Services
Barbara is an accredited Occupational Therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Register Agency (AHPRA), Medicare Australia, and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA). She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from the University of Western Sydney in 2001 and later completed her Certificate IV in Assessment and Training.
Our occupational therapists can conduct an initial functional needs assessment to examine your ability to perform normal daily activities. They can then develop strategies to make these activities easier. We come to your home for this assessment so we can see how you function in your most familiar environment.
Our occupational therapists can come to your home to determine the risk of you having a fall. We examine your environment and your daily activities, and advise on your risk factors and what you can change in your environment to prevent a fall. Falls are a leading cause of injury in people aged over 65 - 1 in 4 people in this age group have at least 1 fall per year.
Assistive technology is any device or system that allows a person to perform a task as independently as possible. Our occupational therapists can assess your needs for assistive technology and equipment that can help you perform tasks, and remain as safe and independent as possible. In our equipment assessment, we examine your everyday activities and your particular disability needs.
If you have a carer or employee who assists you to move to and from your bed, wheelchair, floor, toilet or chair, our occupational therapists can provide training to ensure it's done safely every time. We will work with you and your carer/support staff to make recommendations based on your particular home environment and conduct training in the safest manual handling methods.

Dealing with Living Strength OT has been a wonderful journey for me and one that I'm so happy I did. I'm very sceptic so from that first initial call I knew I was going to be in good hands.
