Andrew Donald started the company in 1996 but the heritage of ADDE goes back further, to the 1980s when a number of the current team first started working with Andrew then the engineering manager at Machine Dynamics. In those early days, we were designing our own robots and building automation solutions for companies such as Ford, Glaxo (now GSK) and Nabisco.
Whether it is packing products into cases, lifting heavy loads or palletising, robots are typically a very efficient and effective solution. ADDE has experience with everything from the latest collaborative robots to heavy-lifting industrial robots. We are a partner with ABB, Universal Robots and Kuka but we also have experience with Staubli, Fanuc and Motorman.
I guess at the end of the day, everything we do is a special purpose machine, but when a machine doesn't use a robot we typically call it a 'special purpose machine'. With a selection of pneumatics and servo actuators we can assemble or process your product with a fast and efficient solution. Bowl feeders, descramblers, indexing wheels, shuttles and tracks, inspection and testing or whatever is needed, assembled and integrated ready to run.
They go by a variety of names - Autonomous Intelligent Vehicles, Mobile Robots, Autonomous Mobile Robot - but whatever you call them the latest generation of AGV are revolutionising the way products are moved around a factory. These people-safe vehicles can carry loads from 100kg to 1,500kg and more all without the need for any fixed infrastructure, meaning they are quickly deployed and can easily adapt to changes and reconfiguration.
From the smallest collaborative end of line palletiser to the largest central palletiser in the country, ADDE has the experience for all your palletising needs. Every palletiser solution has to be designed to meet your specific combination of lines, cases, patterns and rates.

We will draw on our experience with pallet handling by robot, shuttle, conveyor or vehicle, case sorting and collation, multi-picking, robot on a track and suitable safety guarding to get the best solution.A central palletiser brings all your cases to a central location and shares the resources of pallet handling and robots to serve multiple lines.
