Orthodontic treatment is largely about using dental braces to give you straight teeth that look great and improve your confidence. It's also important for helping you chew, eat and speak properly, and to improve bone structure and gum health, which benefits your overall health. A confident smile has even been shown to improve your career prospects!.
Dr Michael Whyte is one of the most qualified orthodontists in Queensland. He has degrees in engineering and dentistry (both with first class honours), as well as a Doctorate in Orthodontics. Being a good orthodontist is more than just holding the right qualifications. It's about seeing the full potential for every client and helping them change their smile and their life.
The Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic check-up at around seven years of age. This is when your child's first adult molars erupt and establish their back bite. At this stage, an orthodontist can evaluate your child's bite and identify whether they will need braces or other orthodontic treatment.
