Pelican Boat Hire has been serving customers from 180 Gympie Terrace Noosaville for more than 50 years. Established in 1957 Noosa Marine Services provided slipway and small boat repairs as well as hiring out 'tinnies' as Pelican Hire Boats. The photo gallery shows some of the early days with the unpaved road and foreshore, and in the background Blue Lodge, holiday homes, a large hardware store and timber mill.
Pelican Boat Hire is the primary fuel dock servicing the Noosa River. We have Unleaded and Diesel fuel available with long length hoses for servicing all vessels including wider catamarans. Our fuel dock is 24m long and the largest on the Noosa River. All Unleaded and Diesel hoses and modern bowser were upgraded to latest standards in 2017.
The Big Pelican Riverside Cafe and Kiosk offers a great selection of coffee, milkshakes, smoothies, ice-creams, drinks and snacks. Our qualified baristas are ready for your coffee order from 7am to 4pm every day, so we're ready to help you with that coffee fix! Kick back with the great views of the river from our comfortable seating whilst you enjoy a coffee and snack.
A deposit (either by cash or credit card) will be required to confirm a booking and during your hire period. Once your deposit is received or the credit card details are confirmed your booking will be confirmed. Full payment can be made at the time of the hire. By paying the deposit or by providing your credit card details you agree to the conditions of booking.
Day Tripper is now available for private charters on the Noosa River after being transformed into a cool and intimate party boat cruising the Noosa River. With its huge flat shaded front deck, Day Tripper is perfect for gentle cocktail cruises, family or work celebrations and big beach picnics for groups of 20 - 49.

We hired their biggest boats for a half a day. The boats were new and reasonable value. Very capable for the area and easy to manage. The front ramps are a little worrying as the incline is very steep and the waves can move it into peoples legs if they are not sprightly enough to board quickly, and they have no toilet on board...otherwise it is a perfect BBQ boat

Great but wet day on the water..the BBQ Luxury Plus Boats are a great day out. Pity the focus of the boat ie the BBQ is not maintained properly had no flame controls basically on or off. Burnt offerings abound.
Ridiculous...and this is the 3rd time I've hired or been on one of these boats...all different boats but the same problem with BBQ on each boat.
For the sort of money they charge, they really need to maintain their boats and especially the BBQs better.

The New Ultimate BBQ Boat is AMAZING!!!
We hired one of the brand new Ultimate boats recently and it is the best hire pontoon on the Noosa River. They can carry up to 12 people but there is loads of space. There are 3 different sitting areas - a sit down table, large side seats and sunbed lounges at the rear. Perfect for a day out at the spit or cruise through the canals. We had a BBQ breakfast while on board and there is a great bench space for preparing and serving food. The front of the boat automatically drops down to create a ramp so you can easily walk down onto the sand when you pull in

Great service. My wife and our 2 kids and I went kayaking here yesterday. We we thinking we would need 2 x 2 person's kayaks but they recommend singles as we would fit perfectly.
This helps was greatly appreciated as the kids loved it. It clearly showed they thought about their customers needs and not about making more money by up selling us.
Keeping doing want your doing and we will be back again next time we visit for sure.

Pelican Boat Hire right on the river opposite the shopping strip was a fabulous place to drop into for a coffee or to hire any sort of marine gear. We wandered over to inquire about the ferry that goes to Noosa Hastings Street and were lucky to be approached by Louise. She was fabulous she told us about all our options, prices and even suggested an afternoon ferry trip that we could go on with a wine and nibbles cruising up and down the river for a couple of hours for less that $20 each (seniors prices. ) She was very enthusiastic about Noosaville and what it had to offer letting us know about

Service good. We had the 16 person boat & only took 6. Toilet smelt, BBQ was either on or off, no adjustments. At one point the boat nose dived & water entered the floor area & the engine came out of the water. All of us hold boat licences so knew what to do. Would not recommend this boat for inexperienced operators. We noted a hole in one pontoon when we docked.
