When SewBizz owner and seamstress Lisa gives you sewing advice, you know she is talking from experience. Lisa has always loved to create and her passion for sewing started at an early age. She completed training as a seamstress in her late teens at the Melbourne College of Textiles, undertook studies in Patternmaking at RMIT, and has been further developing her skills with additional training throughout her years.

We no longer offer any over the phone quotations, due to the large variety in styles and fabrics which makes it difficult to price. Every dress is unique needs to be assessed individually. Due to the time consultations take to address personal needs we are no longer able to offer free consultations.
We alter men's, ladies and children's clothing. You can arrange for uniforms, casual wear, business trousers, corporate wear, maternity wear, tailor made pants/trousers, suits, shirts to be be altered and repaired. Dresses - We can shorten and /or lengthen hems, take in side and centre back seams and replace zips.

I found Lisa when I was on the hunt for a non-judgemental seamstress who could listen to me and take her time to help me with my unfortunate situation. I previously had my dress butchered by an alterations store that was recommended by my bridal dress store (the bridal store no longer recommends that alterations store).

Lisa was great to deal with. I took in a pair of moleskin jeans that needed taking up and slimming of the legs.
Lisa was attentative and listened to what I wanted the pants to be.
The end product was great, like you' buy off the shelf. There's no indication they might have been altered.
And fir a very fair price.
Lisa was also prompt with completing the job and letting me know they're ready for pick up.
