Services
Neil Pitt (b1931) opened Neil Pitt's Menswear at 123 Charles St in Launceston in 1949. His brother Donald joined him soon afterwards and they were later joined by their younger brother Brian. The shop grew steadily in Charles Street to the point where they outgrew the store. Around the same time television had arrived and patronage at movie theatres around the city were in decline.
Neil Pitt's specialises in mens wedding suits. With the biggest range of suits in Tasmania and an extensive selection of shirts, ties and accessories, we are able to completely outfit your groom and groomsmen. Our job is to make your groom and groomsmen look stylish and comfortable with minimum stress and fuss.
In the 1960's department stores all had coffee shops in store, and today this tradition continues at Neil Pitt's Menswear. The Neil Pitt's cafe is one of the last traditional department store coffee shops in Tasmania and possibly Australia.
Serving up healthy, wholesome food, great coffee and tea, morning teas, light lunches, daily specials, cakes and desserts, milkshakes, spiders, and we've been told our Devonshire tea is the best in Tasmania with fresh baked scones daily.

Our staff have extensive retail and menswear fashion experience and will welcome you with a smile. Don joined his brother Neil in the shop soon after it was opened in 1949, at 123 Charles St. Don has had a long career as a respected businessman across a number of industries, but his main passion is menswear and the shop and what he enjoys most is serving customers.

I walked in the store looking for a suit today. Tried three jackets with the help of the rep. None of them fitted my size. I have asked what seemed to be a normal question - what size is this!. I was shocked with the reply "it is the store policy not tell customers the size, because they come to size up here and then go buy online."
Disappointed.
I am giving a 3 stars for making an effort to keep the store doors open.

Terrible customer service. Maybe I'm use to larger city quality friendly customer service, but maybe because of less competition in Launceston Neil Pitt's can afford to not have either.
All I came in for was to try on a couple of suits to see what colour and style I like for my upcoming wedding. The lady who served us was abrupt and rude about the size of my thighs. After letting me try on 3 suits rudely remarked that she was taking suits left right and center off the shelves (3 suits *eye roll*) and that was taking up too much time that could be spent on other customers (despite there literally

The young salesman was fantastic, helpfull and on top of his game. I was in town for a new suit, shoes etc and I'm happy to say that Neil Pitt's is one of the very few retailers in Launceston that hasent lost its customer service 🙂 As we were leaving the owner walked in the door and stopped for a chat, nice once again to say that customer service and the art of conversation are not dead yet 🙂
