Mercy Bariatrics has collaborated with St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital to provide a high value, low cost, package deal for eligible bariatric patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy by Dr Cohen. In designing this program, we have not reduced or compromised on the extent or quality of the preoperative assessment, surgical care or postoperative care and support, which we offer to all our patients.

BMI greater than 35 by itself or greater than 30 if there is an associated obesity illness, such as diabetes, hypertension or sleep apnoea. There is considerable flexibility in these guidelines. Patients as young as 12 have been offered surgery. Sometimes a lower BMI between 30-35 is accepted if comorbidities exist.

I had my surgery January 2021. I was very skeptical and did a lot of research for two years before I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I must say that Mexico bariatric center definitely met all my expectations and was very clean professional and communicated very well with me. They took care of me from the minute I got there to the minute I left. My surgery was extremely successful. The only thing I would have done different is I would have got the surgery sooner.

My experience with MBC was wonderful. Having the Gastric Sleeve 3 months ago was the best decision I could have made. From the time I was picked up at the airport to the time I was dropped off 3 days later, everything was flawless. Juan at the hotel was extremely helpful with all my questions. He was available for my companion when she had questions or concerns also. The drivers that took me for my pre-op tests and the next day to the hospital were friendly and very helpful with anything that I needed. Karla, Brittney and Leili are fantastic. I traveled solo to Mexico for my VSG procedure on Oct 11th, 2021. Nervous, worried, and a little scared, all of that was eased by the kind, courteous, and professionalism by each and every person along this journey. The drivers, hotel staff, Karla and other hospital personnel, nurses, and Dr. Montalvo. My overall experience was great! I was a little bummed I didn't get my surg until 7pm but it all worked out fine. Recovery was uneventful and speedy. With the help of Leili, Jenn, and Brittany, I was able to get answers to most of my questions. Everyone has been super supportive! I am 9 weeks post

Good experience got there early so I was able to go on the tour and explore. It was a friendly and professional atmosphere. The drivers are the nicest people so helpful and kind. I didn’t have a wall plug in and they brought one back for me. The. Hotel has the most amazing food for your companions and you get to have popsicles, jello and broth. My surgeon was Cabrera he was nice and as of right now I have no complaints other then my surgery time was changed a few times and that was pretty annoying.

The experience was seem less from start to finish. I didn’t have to worry about anything the moment I stepped into the car at the airport. I was taken care of 100. The hotel is pretty nice and they have food for you so you don’t ever have to worry about food the entire experience. The hospital is Ok and the doctors and nurses are very competent. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible the entire way through and the hospitality is amazing. The hospital, the drivers, the hotel, all extremely hospitable. Unlike some of the reviews on here, this place is very clean and sanitary. The staff is very polite and attentive to your needs. Everything used is new and taken out of sterile packaging. After surgery is going to be rough but as soon as the staff is able to they will get you on medication to assist with pain and nausea. 100 % recommend for anybody thinking about this place!

I don’t know where to begin. I was so nervous to leave the country for any reason let alone a surgical procedure. As soon as I inquired about this facility I received the best care from beginning to end, from the coordinators to the hospital staff, the drivers, the surgeon. I can’t believe it took me so long to find this place but it was well worth the money spent and zero complications. No relevant pain. Vsg 10/11/21. I would do it all over again but hopefully I do my part and don’t have to. Thank you so much everyone at MBC especially Dr Rodriguez. You have really changed my life 💕

Everyone was very nice! Made the process so fast and easy.
My mom came with me she said the hotel staff were great!
Hospital staff was good but I was scheduled for surgery at 5pm and I didn’t go in till 9pm. There was no communication about how late it was going to be it was just a waiting game.
There were like two wings of the center. One was really updated and nice. The other was not. I was in the not updated one. The hospital beds were uncomfortable especially after surgery. Overall I would do it again.
