Our Oral Health Department provides ongoing professional maintenance care, so that, coupled with good home habits, periodontal disease and its effect on the whole body can be controlled. Do your gums bleed when you brush or floss? Do you notice a bad taste in your mouth? Do you have bad breath? Do your gums look red or swollen?
Our Oral Health Department, which includes our doctors and oral health therapists will together diagnose, determine your risk factors and formulate an individualized care plan. This is very much an individualized matter due to combination of genetics and environment. Overall general health, susceptibility to gum disease and home care habits really determine the frequency of care that is best suited to your needs.
Your OHT may need more than one appointment to return your mouth back to health. Once health is attained, your hygienists and dentist will advise optimal ongoing care program based on your individual needs. Most of the time, your oral health maintenance visits will coincide with your examination by the dentist.
Did you know that scientific research has concluded that even low-grade infection in your mouth (periodontal disease) elevates inflammation in the mouth, which then impacts on your body's systems? The impact on your body's systems leads to increased risk of developing many systemic diseases. It's now proven that your oral health is linked to your general health.

I first went to Dr Dana as I had complications with needing an implant and a few mistakes made by a few different dentists.
Dr Dana took the time to understand the issue by providing 2 consultation calls and then had me in the clinic. Her kindness, experience and care got me through quite a difficult implant procedure.
My teeth now are in better condition than they ever have!
I am so thankful not only to her but the medical receptionists that are amazing! Thank you Jhana and Tiffany for going above and beyond always to ensure I get the best rebates, for checking up after each procedure and always

I don't normally go to Hartwell, but when I wanted to begin the journey of straightening my teeth, after a bit of research, I ended up pursuing the Invisalign service that they offer. From the very start I was incredibly grateful for the help that Tiffany was willing to provide with payment plans, not to mention her warm attitude and professionalism. Where do I begin? We were referred to Hartwell Dentistry this year as my husband has a serious phobia. He hadn’t been to the dentist in over 30 years! He has now had treatment and his teeth are looking great! He’s able to do visits thanks to the caring and calming nature of the wonderful team! I was so impressed I swapped dentists to go here too! I’d been told my teeth were ok, well not so much! But thanks to these amazing and skilled professionals I’m on my way to better oral health.

Tiffany and Shalyn are outstanding. I have had a lot of dentists in my time and these guys are by far the best. The care and attention from the moment you book until you leave not to mention the high quality of the work is second to none. The team, the service and the expert Dentistry at Hartwell Dentistry was the best medical experience I’ve ever had! The ladies at reception were so friendly, caring and accommodating! Matt the dentist was incredibly patient, engaging and gave great expert opinion, care and advice! Taylor, the dental nurse was great too! What an extraordinary care culture at this practice! I couldn’t recommend this place any higher! Amazing experience, in what otherwise can be a daunting visit to a dentist!

I certainly get the impression that they are always keeping up with the latest in Continuing Dental Education and technology. I used to see a periodontist for my gum disease but was always left dissatisfied with the treatment and results. Since moving to Hartwell, my gum disease is finally under control and I could not be happier. It’s evident that Hartwell keeps up to date with the latest technology. I had been terribly slack and hadn’t seen a dentist for 7 years but Hartwell had a whole team of great dentists ready to get my teeth and gums back in tip top shape!
From my initial consult with the lovely Dana, a few fillings with the ever entertaining Matt, two sessions with the hygiene gurus and some work with the gorgeous Dr Gavin to help get to the bottom of my teeth grinding woes, together with the lovely reception staff, I’ve the best care and experience anyone could hope for as far as what’s normally a dreaded trip to the dentist!
