If you're looking for stress free straightforward settlement journey… keep on googling. I kept a list of the errors from my recent transaction:
- Sent a form to sign with someone else's details pre-filled
- Wrong dates given for the building inspection period
- Wrong settlement date communicated to me
- Selling agent not notified of finance approval on due date
- Wasn't told a package had been sent via mail to sign, and only made aware 3 days before settlement deadline
In the end the place settled and I moved in, so at a binary level they did their job… but not without significant additional
