Little did Brad know that when a friend asked him to work with him on rising damp problems in terrace houses in Paddington, Sydney that this would lead to broader horizons. With a ton of experience under his belt, Brad started Rising Damp Solutions in 1994 and has been going strong ever since - that's over 25 years of rising damp solutions in Sydney homes and commercial buildings.
Rising damp is unsightly, bad for your health and can affect the structure of your house or building - it's time to find a rising damp solution! As the name suggests, rising damp occurs when moisture rises up through brick or masonry walls from ground level. When houses and buildings are built, they are constructed with a damp barrier called a damp proof course, to stop the ground moisture being drawing into the walls.
Lateral damp issues are usually from a source difficult to isolate and control. Rising Damp Solutions have over 30 years extensive experience in Sydney homes and buildings and knowing where to look and the types of problems that can cause lateral damp. Lateral damp, part of our expertise in rising damp solutions, is when moisture or water enters a wall or building horizontally.
When a rising damp issue has been treated and the waterproofing layer has been added, the wall and area need approximately 3 to 6 months to thoroughly dry out. During this drying time, the moisture left from the rising damp weeps out of the wall. As the moisture dries out, the liquid salt may leave deposits of crystallised salt.

Richard's a great guy, although it's a small fee for a damp inspection he's really honest and professional.
I was worried I was going to get taken for a ride by some cowboy after getting a high damp reading on a house survey but he put everything to rest and didn't sell me in any work - just a full report detailing the need for no work.

Richard is an absolute gentleman, and his knowledge beyond compare.
He very kindly agreed to travel across London for us (which is not his normal patch), and gave invaluable advice to us to act upon. Premium service and top man.

I've had bad experiences in the past with so called expert damp companies, so I was a bit concerned who I could contact regarding a damp issue I had in my flat.
Fortunately, a friend recommended this company. Although they charged me an initial survey fee, it was well worth it as they gave me a detailed report and quotation. I accepted their quote, and the damp and plastering works have just been completed in a very professional and pleasing manner.
Many Thanks
Rachael
