Bornhorst + Ward was formed in 1965 by Barney Bornhorst and Brian Ward as a consulting civil and structural engineering practice. They built a strong foundation of Engineering expertise, commitment to clients, industry innovation and collaboration with industry experts and with continued leadership fostering excellence it has strengthened the business as a market leader.
Bornhorst + Ward has seven Directors who actively work within the Business. Ross Kynaston, Tony Avis, Brett Taylor, Nick Rozis, Paul Kelly, David Teakle and Andrew Bryant bring together over 170 years of combined civil and structural engineering expertise. Through this experience the board continuously strives to achieve better results for clients, maintaining Bornhorst + Ward's strong reputation.

Bornhorst + Ward are proud to provide civil and structural engineering for the iconic Destination Brisbane Consortium's Queens Wharf project. This $3.6 billion project features an Integrated Resort due to open in 2022, with over 1000 premium hotel rooms, 2000 residential apartments, a 1000 seat ballroom, a sky deck with 360-degree views over the river and city and a new pedestrian bridge.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital engineering tool which optimises outcomes when planning, designing, constructing, and managing buildings and infrastructure. BIM allows project teams to collaborate directly on a 3D platform, which improves workflows throughout a project's design, documentation, and operation stages.
