Surgical procedures are the often used for treatment of most skin cancers but, with our modern treatment options, doctors could offer non surgical treatments effectively used for management of skin conditions from skin cancers to benign lesions of skin.
QLD Skin Cancer Clinic is a private billing practice. Our fees are determined by the Australian Medical Association recommended rates and fairly reflect the leading technology and the unique services we provide. Our practice offers Medicare Easyclaim for eligible services. Your Medicare Rebate can be paid back to your debit card immediately after you have paid your account.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the Australia; in fact, 1 in 3 Australians will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. People of all colours and races can get skin cancer. There are many different types of skin cancer, including basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma.
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a non-invasive treatment for superficial skin cancers (BCC and IEC), pre-cancer sunspots as well as acne and ageing skin. PDT is commonly performed in cosmetically sensitive parts of the body, as well as lower legs (which may heal poorly after the surgery). PDT utilises photo-active drugs, oxygen and light to create a photochemical reaction that selectively destroys cancer cells.

I had a full body skin check with Dr Shahsanaei. He was professional and thorough and gave advice on a treatment that could help with sun damage on my neck/chest area. He also froze off a spot that was causing me discomfort.
The clinic itself is clean, welcoming and comfortable. Parking is easy (either out the front or down the back), fees are comparable with other practices and additional services are offered, see website.

First appt at Qld Skin Cancer Clinic on Wed 10th Nov, and was very impressed with warm and professional service, from both receptionist & GP. Dr Hossein Taghi-Zadeh was thorough & attentive, and felt safe in his hands, literally, given significant family history of melanoma. Would highly recommend, but may have a wait to get appt.

Dr Hossein is absolutely fantastic. I had to have a melanoma removed and he managed to put my mind at complete ease about it during the surgical excision. He takes genuine care and has a lovely sense of humour too which I really appreciated. I cannot thank him and this clinic enough. Since then I’ve been back to have a full skin check as well, he is thorough and again, put my mind at ease about the whole process. Lovely staff at the reception too, I can’t recommend the whole team high enough. ✨

I have seen Dr. Hossein Taghi-zadeh on two occasions. On the first occasion he excised a basal cell carcinoma from my ear and replaced the missing skin with a graft from skin at the front of my ear leaving no scarring in either place. My second visit was for treatment for a potential BSC on my nose as well as a full skin check. Dr. Taghi-zadeh is thorough, highly competent and approachable.

I just saw Dr Hossein, he was very thorough and made me feel at ease the whole time. He gave me lots of information about the particular spots and what to look out for and follow up tasks including recommendations for sunscreen and care for my skin. Note it was just my first appointment but so far I am feeling at ease knowing he has done a thorough check and will look out for any changes in future appointments.

This was my first time going to the Queensland Skin Cancer Clinic. Previously I have gone to the GP for a skin cancer check. I went based on the reviews, and I am very glad I did. I generally feel uncomfortable going to doctors appointments and getting skin checks, but I felt comfortable here. Everyone was very professional and explained things clearly. I felt as if my concerns were taken seriously and my wellbeing was cared for.
