I'm a scientist by trade but after starting a journey of personal development in 1998 I started to realise that I wanted more from life. Testubes, microscopes and white coats just didn't cut it any more. In 2000 I started a diploma in Somatic Psychotherapy - 4 years part time - and supplemented this with a course in advanced somatics.
I offer traditional Somatic Psychotherapy for individuals and couples, Transformational Bodywork for individuals as well as Workshops and Groups. Naturally, all of my study and experience informs all of the services I provide, however depending on your requirements I am able to offer a customised service blending traditional and more esoteric therapies.
Somatic psychotherapy works to encourage your body and your mind to transform and connect. The techniques involve verbal engagement and bodywork, where appropriate, specifically biodynamic massage. All of this supports the exploration of limiting beliefs and a movement towards happiness, spontaneity, creativity and an ongoing sense of wellbeing.
My groups are about building awareness (ie bringing more of our unconscious self into our consciousness). Fundamental to building awareness is building connection with our whole being, meaning our mind as well as our body. If one of these is left out of the equation then the road to happiness is more arduous and much longer.
