Our turf is guaranteed to arrive healthy and in good condition. A drought tolerant turfgrass variety is chosen eg. Couch, Kikuyu & Buffalo (Sir Wally Premium Lawn Turf), as per SA Water's 'New Lawn Exemption Permit'.
Sir Wally is a turf grown in South Australia for South Australian conditions. Unlike the old buffalo, it is not a coarse turf - the barb has been removed to give a soft feel - great for children and pets. It will also self-repair which is important if you have dogs. Provides good wear tolerance in high traffic areas (backyards with dogs, heavily shaded playgrounds, etc).
Santa Anna is a Californian hybrid variety that has a fine, soft leaf texture and low growing appeal. Santa Anna Couch is a semi-vigorous creeping perennial with above ground runners which can be maintained in a given area by bordering. Santa Anna has a high wear tolerance and an excellent ability to recuperate quickly.
Our synthetic turf is Australian developed and manufactured and is the alternative to natural lawns in both domestic and commercial applications. Around the home it can be used around swimming pools & spas, in dog areas, front yards, court yards, roof gardens and play areas. Synthetic turf is ideal for areas that are hard to grow natural turf, such as shaded and high foot traffic areas.

Absolutely terrible product and customer service. We received our lawn a few weeks ago and it was practically dead when it arrived. We laid it the same day as instructed and I've never seen lawn look so bad. Especially when paying a premium, we expected a lot better. Have followed up with the company and has gotten us nowhere. They will not accept any fault and are trying to blame us. We have spent a fortune on water trying to bring it back but some parts are beyond recovery and are totally dead. Seems to be a pattern with poor products and poor follow up from reading other reviews below. Be warned

If I could give zero stars I would. Under no circumstances should you buy your lawn from this company, they are a rip off, they delivered this lawn on Friday afternoon, it was not a hot day, it was laid at 6am Saturday morning and more than half of it was dead. They refused blankly to do anything about it. I ordered 160sqm, 20 sqm was totally unusable, absolutely dead and this is the rest. Everybody says that shouldn't have happened, must have been sitting on the pallet for days, but they still refuse to replace even 1sqm of my lawn.

Very pleased with our purchase of Sir Wally from Hicks, they were easy to deal with, payment over the phone and delivery the next day! Turf arrived in good shape and after following the instructions to prepare the soil, level, fertilise and water, we now have a very lush looking nature strip! Thank You!

This is the first time I’ve used Hicks Turf. They were the grass supplier at our local landscape yard. I chose Sir Wally Premium Buffalo Instant Turf. The grass arrived on time and the delivery guy was great, even offered tips and tricks to lay the new lawn. When you purchase premium turf it’s disappointing to find winter grass throughout a lot of the slabs of turf ; luckily I had over ordered and used the best ones first. A few weeks on and more and more winter grass is popping up. I would strongly advise considering other suppliers and even asking the question that is the turf going to be

Bad quality, bad after service, RUDE! If you are contemplating buying lawn, i strongly recommend you avoid this company. I purchased a significant amount of lawn - we are talking over 1,000 sqm - which was delivered half dead and with no soil on the roots. The lawn was frost damaged, dry and had obviously been cut to high on the root system and was that dry would have had to of been sitting on the pallets for over 20 hours. I contacted Hicks spoke to Kingsley and he was the most rudest person i have ever encountered. Basically said that there was nothing wrong with the lawn and that the problem
