9ct and 18ct refers to the amount of gold content which is in the respective metal. Think of the gold metals being made up of 1000 parts. In 24ct gold 1000 of those parts are made up of fine gold. In 9ct, 375 parts of the metal is made up of fine gold and the remaining 625 parts of various alloys. That is why you see 9ct being stamped with either 9ct or 375.
Mokume-gane is a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns and translates closely to "wood grain metal". First made in 17th-century Japan, the mixed-metal was used only for sword fittings. After the diffusion of layers, the surface of the billet is cut with assorted drill bits to expose lower layers, then flattened.

With nothing but a few small descriptions of what I'd like for an engagement ring, they were able to design it from scratch with several options drawn to help decide. Since then I have had made 2 wedding bands and an eternity band to match as well as a silver ring with my best man's footy colors.
Even been back for his after care clean and polish so the rings are always looking brand new. Highly recommended

I had a Victorian gold bracelet repaired which had broken in half. His work was so perfect you could not tell that the item had ever been fixed. I also found his price was very reasonable. I would recommend his business to anyone who may be thinking of having a family heirloom repaired. The quality of his work is outstanding and I now have a beautiful item of jewellery on my wrist instead of sitting in a safe!
