Since commencing business in 1938, the Gearco Group has developed into a comprehensively equipped, Australian owned, manufacturing organization. We specialize in the production of high quality gears for mining, transportation, agricultural and general industrial applications.

Supplementing this activity is overhaul of industrial & mining gear boxes in our assembly shop, and flame or inductions hardening of steel parts in our Global Steel Heat Treatment Division.The Group has a quality management system certified to ISO 9001: 2000 and is focused on markets where our skills and experience give us a competitive edge.

Global Steel Heat Treatment has been servicing minin and industrial customers for more than 25 years. We are Australian owned and specialize in Induction & Flame Hardening of pins, gears, rollers, sheaves & other machined parts. With the ability to harden shafts to 400mm diameter and 4 metres long, our facility has one of the largest capacities in the Australian market.
Since working with the OEM in making wheel units for the Hydracar Shuttle Car, and supplying key gearing items for the joy 155c & 225c Shuttle Cars, wheel unites have been continuously refurbished in our assembly shop. Major castings from scrapped units are crack tested and kept in stock for MIG welding & re-machining as required to bring back to new condition.
Gearco has a fully equipped gear box repair facility in our Seven Hills plant. Industrial gearboxes weighing up to 5 tonnes, are regularly reconditioned to customer specifications. Each gearbox is stripped and hot washed to remove grease & dirt. Parts are inspected for damage & distortion, and gearing items are MPI tested for cracks to ensure they can be re-used.
Gearco Engineering has invested in a new Shot Peening Machine this extends our currant range of operations for gear manufacture. Shot peening is the process of cold working or hammering the surface of a material with small spheres of steel, ceramic or glass media pneumatically propelled at relatively high velocities.
