Served apprenticeship as design "drafts man" with Highgate Engineers (A Division of Comalco), from 1965 to 1969, studying Mechanical Engineering at college during apprenticeship. The company was involved in the design & manufacture of Aluminium Tankers and Tippers for the road transport industry and heavy mining industry.
I was involved in the design of the above units and also had practical experience in the manufacturing plant. Held position of Design Engineer and later Sales Co-Ordinator (Tanker Design & Sales) in Sydney (Head office) branch. Transferred to Kewdale, Perth, W.A. branch in 1970 to assist with establishment of new branch & held position as Design Engineer.

Called to ask if terry could engineer a welded chassis brace to a 4wd. Told that I could ask a quick question. So I did. The he proceeded to tell me that it was not his position to give advice but to make an appointment. So why agree to the question being asked in the first place. I just want to know if I got this done could he engineer it ? Then he hung up on me. So don’t bother. Poor customer service.
