We are a small family owned jewellery workshop and store, located in the heart of Hobart, Tasmania. We specialize in custom commissions of fine jewellery including handmade wedding bands, diamond jewellery and bespoke engagement rings. We have three jewellers on site at the Sargisons Hobart workshop who each design and make jewellery using Australian gold and ethically sourced gemstones and diamonds.
Holloware in the collection of the Brisbane Museum & Gallery and international collections. Manufacturing jeweller, silversmith, fine arts graduate, BA at RMIT in jewellery design, certified diamond grader. Designer, manufacturing jeweller, gemmologist, registered valuer and certified diamond grader F.G.A.A. 44 years experience, widely travelled; recently sailed in the Mediterranean and French canals.
The story of Sargisons begins with namesake and founder, Harold Frances Sargison (1885 - 1983.) After completing a five year apprenticeship to a local jeweller, Harold set up shop in 1905 in Murray Lane, Hobart. He later relocated the business to 125 Liverpool St - where it is still located today. Harold made a name for himself as a fine craftsman and reputable jeweller.
At Sargisons Jewellers of Hobart we have extensive experience repairing all types of jewellery. We can advise on the best course of action to repair or restore your precious pieces. We believe that if something can be repaired it should be. From a simple resize to complete remakes, repairs have been the backbone of our business for decades.
A diamond is a unique gem that has unrivaled brilliance and physical properties that make it an excellent choice for an engagement ring, or any piece of jewellery that can be passed on for generations. At Sargisons we pride ourselves on being diamond experts. On site we have three certified diamond graders and many years of experience working with diamonds.

A fantastic jewellery store. Some lovely pieces inside but I went in to have my ring cleaned and plated due to a reaction I was having. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. They gave me fantastic advice and went out of their way to do what they could even reshaping the top of my wedding ring for free so a notch that was carved in to it to allow my engagement ring to sit within it wasn't as obvious and i could then wear my wedding ring on its own. I was so pleased. Ill be a return customer for certain.
