Reed Everingham Counselling & Psychotherapy
I'm a qualified and experienced therapist working in the Blue Mountains. My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centred, meaning I work with you wherever you're at to support you through life's entanglements. I specialise in trauma and the body, self-esteem, anxiety, depression and couples work.
Four simple words capture the essence of my therapeutic approach and personal philosophy: Change, Grow, Practice and Flow!
Services
I'm Reed, a clinical psychotherapist, counsellor, & couples coach who specialises in supporting people to become unstuck & less tangled. I'm Reed, a clinical psychotherapist, counsellor, and couples coach who specialises in supporting people to become unstuck and less tangled. I work with individuals, couples, families and groups both online and in my private practice in Katoomba, NSW.
I offer two services to my individual clients: psychotherapy and counselling. Both approaches are focussed on your needs, but address slightly different situations and run over different time frames. Regardless of which approach you choose to take - short or long term - my priority remains you. I'll work to establish a relationship with you that's collaborative, accepting, authentic and honours the unique world in which you live.
There are a variety of reasons why couples might seek the support of a therapist. These include moving through and repairing a traumatic event or rupture; a breakdown of trust, intimacy or communication; infidelity; loss; separation and divorce; and couples entering a new life phase. Doing therapy together can support you as you reconnect in your relationship, working through what is valuable and meaningful.
While it can feel hard to invest in ourselves, especially with money and time, it's one of the most valuable things that we can do. I encourage you to give yourself permission to invest in yourself or your relationship. I offer both online and in-person consults from/at my practice in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.
Below I talk about my therapeutic approach and my journey to become a therapist; I even touch on my favourite film and 'bad hair' days! In hindsight, I found writing up these answers very meaningful. I hope you enjoy reading them and please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can support and assist you to change, grow, and flourish!

We have both been attending couples counselling for over a year now. We first approached Reed as we are a young married couple and our past baggage and fears were impacting the relationship. Reed instantly put us at ease by providing a safe and professional environment where we could be vulnerable. Thanks to Reed, we now have the tools and communication skills to work through any external or self inflicted challenge that may arise. Not sure where we would both be if it wasn’t because of Reeds service. Many thanks and gratitude. Love Cam and Angie.

Reed is an empathetic and intuitive counsellor, drawing on his deep experience of clinical psychotherapy and his personal practice of meditation and mindfulness. He has a strong capacity to help clients identify their issues, and collaborate on their own pathways to wellness in a way that suits them. I highly recommend Reed and would refer people to him without hesitation.
