Services
We are a family of animal lovers who have been blessed to call Australia home since 2005, having immigrated from South Africa. Our family consists of myself Zelda, my hardworking husband, and our two beautiful children.
One more, very important member of the family includes our 'Aussie Pooch' Elvis, a loving, fluffy, and gentle Maltese X. Being able to bring 2 of our beloved pets (Vlekkie, our Jack Russell and our Rottweiler Kara, who have since passed away) with us to Australia helped to make the family feel 'whole' once they came home after spending 7 months in quarantine.Animals have always played an important role in our lives.

Upon entering the Lodge, an African adventure, filled with fun and pampering awaits all furry friends! Mom and Dad, you are welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the lounge area and meeting "Henry", our resident giraffe! Take a wander through the boutique shop where we stock outstanding items, you might find something special for your fur baby.or even yourself!
Guests are taken to the grassed exercise areas where they can play with likeminded friends, where possible and granting owners have given their permission. During this time we focus on different types of play that promote physical and mental stimulation for each guest. For more detail, please visit our Enrichment Program page.
Keeping in mind the level of fitness and capabilities of each guest, a variety of games and toys are at hand to keep them occupied. Different games are played each day. Mental stimulation plays just as vital a role to ensure a healthy, happy hound, as does physical stimulation. Our program includes a variety of mental stimulation games.
We now also offer premium Prime 100 Single Protein rolls (Turkey and Flaxseed) in combination with Black Hawk or Ivory Coat biscuits. Some guests may have a sensitivity to certain food products, please inform us of this so that we can ensure to give treats that will not cause any digestive or skin issues.

Couldn’t have had a better experience. The owner, Zelda, clearly loves pets and takes care of them like they are her own. The whole process was so caring and professional. From the detailed questionnaire to ensure our boys had the perfect treatment, to the welcome, daily photos and updates and picking them up freshly bathed, everything was magic. The care and love shown meant my partner and I could rest easy and relax to enjoy our holiday knowing how much our boys were enjoying theirs. Will always come back here!

Thank you Zelda & your team for taking such good care of our fur babies for 5 days. It really is a 5 star resort for dogs. We were extremely impressed with your professionalism and facilities.Not only do you… make sure they are safe and well cared for but they loved the activities on a daily basis. I love how you treat them both special and cuddled them to make them feel safe. We will definitely be back soon.

Our girls stayed for 4 nights, we have never left them with anyone and were very anxious but Zelda and the team put our anxiety to rest with positive communication, clear structure for the girls and made our… girls feel like the only visitors there. Daily routine and cameras in their room, regular photos and updates, amazing yards and security, Khatala is just more than a pet lodge- it’s a pet paradise! Thank you again for having Maggie and Lucy experience another home away from home.xx

The initial viewing put my mind at ease knowing my doggos would be so well cared for.
The drop off was sensitive and relaxed as both Zelda and Ilandré understand how hard it is to leave your babies.
You are taken through to your dogs suite to set it up as you wish to make your babies ever so comfortable.
The dogs have a gorgeous little arrival treat on their doggo day bed followed by hugs and kisses from mum and dad before being taken into

Our little Bonnie stayed here for the first time and she settled in quickly thanks to the wonderful people at Khatala. We loved our daily photos and videos and also appreciated the camera that you can log into at anytime to check on your Furkid. Amazing facilities and even more amazing caring owners, we would highly recommend.

I cant say enough good things about this place. the people a wonderful there really care about the dogs and know about dogs. they provide daily updates on how your dog is doing. they have a camera system with an app so u can see your dog. it's really outstanding! also they didnt charge for the full amount of time that we booked in our dog because lockdown hit and we had to take our dog away. they were truly wonderful. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Extremely impressive service. Khatala is a completely different kennel than I have ever seen. You pay a little more per night, but the pups stay is all included with no addons (like a lot of other kennels charge i.e. extra for walks). They provide a beautiful setting, great facilities, and caring operators. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Perth. I have my dogs booked in for every trip we have planned this year :)
