I've been attending Karyukai as an adult for over 2 years. Natsuko sensei is the real deal, and teaches Shotokan karate in a traditional Japanese style. She is a very kind and patient teacher, and knows how to challenge and push her students to reach their greatest potential. The training fee is very reasonable and the instruction provided is really top-notch.
If you're looking to practice real Shotokan Karate in a traditional style with a knowledgeable Japanese instructor, look no further.

I first came to Karyukai Karate in Jan 2021 (post-lockdown). I had never done any form of martial art before. I looked at several schools in the local area but was drawn to the traditional look and feel of the schools. I was certainly not disappointed when I attend!
Natsuko sensei gives the perfect mix of traditional technical expertise and modern knowledge of physiology. She delivers Shotokan Karate in a way that grounds movements in their purpose and power. Karyukai karate has an impressive and nurturing dojo culture that it's clear Natsuko has worked hard to create and keeps me coming back

My son has restart Karate learning at Karate at Karyukai Karate since beginning of the year. He really enjoys every single time goes to the dojo. Every sensei and member is looking after the dojo and each other as a big family. He said he's not only learning traditional techniques but also the spirit of Karate. We feel so luck for him to being part of the group!
