I graduated from Sydney University in 1983. After working in clinics around Sydney, I moved to Wagga and opened Berry Street Veterinary Hospital and Junee Vet Clinic. During the next 18 years, I and a small handful of dedicated nurses worked the two practices, including making weekly visits to outlying towns in order to see animals far away from vet hospitals.
At Kooringal Vet Hospital, we are fully equipped with an in-house pathology laboratory to allow our vet team to quickly assess your pet's blood and urine for an accurate insight into their internal organ and body function. Some specialised testing may need to be sent to an external laboratory and may take longer to get results.
Fleas can cause skin disease and transmit infectious or parasitic diseases, some of which can be transmitted to humans too. In some dogs, fleas can also trigger an allergic reaction called flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), a skin disease that is intensely itchy and can result in hair loss and skin infections.

Intestinal worms are relatively common in many animal species including dogs, cats, rabbits, large animals, fish, reptiles and birds. Regular deworming is necessary to ensure your pets remain healthy and to reduce the risk of infection to people. Intestinal worms are often spread by faeces, so can be picked up anywhere from the backyard to the dog park.

My experience has been a journey culminated today when the decision was made for Max to be euthanised today. Dr Daniel and Dr Lucinda and Lauren plus all the other staff have been amazing in the care they gave to Max. I cannot thank you all enough for your caring particularly today when he went to sleep. I also would like to recommend For his cremation and service. RIP Max. The care with the diabetics and heart murmur has been amazing. I would love to have him home with me but that was not to be.

Our little man had an accident over Christmas and Mark and whom ever was on the Facebook messenger were amazing . Thank you so much for your advice and care as we know you deserve a holiday break too but you were there for us when needed. I cannot thank Kiri and the team enough for the quick and amazing surgery they did on our husky Nova.You were all absolutely amazing (especially to me when I was having a breakdown). We had tried moorong st… and weren't even helped or comforted in the slightest. Kooringal vets will forever be where we go when we are in need. Really amazing people. From the receptionist to the Vets, they know and love what they are doing. You and your loved ones feel welcomed and valued there. My Shih Tzu had chronic skin and ear issues, and was seeing another practice for almost two years, but the issue remained the same. Following a suggestion from my friend, we went to Kooringal Vets. Dr. Sharlet did a thorough examination, and explained everything in detail. The diagnosis was perfect and our little one is in her old self. Thanks a heap.
