Austim
Austim was established in 1985 by Peter Rowney. After many years working in the national timber industry, Peter discovered there was a gap in the WA market waiting to be filled. With encouragement and backing from long-term employer and colleague, Denis M. Cullity, Peter commenced operations from the current Landsdale site.

Before long, Peter had established himself as a supplier of quality timber, which was just what Perth craved. Core products in the early years were imported and predominantly used by the building and construction markets. As the business grew, decorative timbers were added. Austim also became known for its range of specialty timbers which were used for furniture and joinery.

Austim are a great partner and timber supplier. Our business is based on the East Coast of Australia and we partner with Austim for WA projects. We have had a long lasting and great working relationship with Austim for many years. Highly recommend them. Austim is always the first place I try when I need timber and it's rare that I can't get what I need there.
We're always looking to help you out by adding value wherever we can at Austim. Our expertise and equipment allow us to carry out a wide variety of handy services on-site, saving you time and money. If you intend to use your timber externally, we recommend you apply some form of protection to improve stability and longevity.
We are the local experts, providing professional advice to help architects and designers navigate their timber project requirements. Using our years of experience (35+ years), we'll provide solutions to ensure your project runs smoothly. The timber quality is excellent, the price was competitive, the communication spot on and the delivery just right.
If you want to bring style and external protection to your building or outdoor space, you can't go past timber cladding. Architecture in Australia has embraced timber cladding. It is becoming more and more common to see both commercial and residential properties tastefully embellished with wood boards.
Our Victorian Ash is produced by Australian Sustainable Hardwoods (ASH) and branded nationally as "GOODWOOD". Demand GOODWOOD Vic Ash to ensure your timber is supplied on a controlled, environmentally responsible and sustainable basis. Beyond just good looks, timber is becoming increasingly attractive to architects, developers and builders with a focus on environmental awareness and sustainability.

It was the first time I've had to purchase raw timber and I found it very daunting to be faced with making the right decision for what we wanted. As the timber is in it's natural state on a lot of shelving, you cannot know what it's going to look like when it has been 'dressed', unless there is a 'near enough' example available. As there are so many raw planks to choose from, it's not always possible to have a sample to know what you're getting, BUT I found the assistance I received from the guys on site, very helpful and they were very understanding to my lack of experience with timber and all

Pleasure to deal with - helpful, professional and have competitive prices. I got composite decking and supporting timbers ... it turned into a bigger job than expected and they helped me get the additional gear I needed. Would recommend them to anyone!

I had been looking for some cedar for my kayak project and had rung a couple of other places with no luck. When I contacted Austim they were very helpful, had the timber in stock and I was on my was in 20 minutes. The wood was very good quality and has really finished up beautifully. Thanks to Austim.
