Newington Physiotherapy is an advocate for health promotion, injury prevention and enhanced recovery. Dance injuries or technical concerns inc. As Primary care practitioners a Doctors referral is not required to see one of our Physiotherapists unless the injury is Work Cover, DVA or TAC funded. Newington Physiotherapy is also a part of the Medicare funded Enhanced Primary Care network.
Newington Physiotherapy is staffed by passionate physiotherapists treating a wide variety of concerns. Conditions treated include the acute care and rehabilitation of back and neck injuries, sporting injuries, headaches, sciatica, post surgical and post fracture management, overuse and work injuries, arthritis, disorders of the neurological system, dance injuries and technique concerns.
Pre and post natal physiotherapy is an area of practice that provides specific assessment and treatment before, during and after a woman's pregnancy journey. Newington Physiotherapy also offer the hire of Obstetric TENS units (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), providing assistance in managing your pain throughout labour.
Remedial Massage treatments are available at Newington Physiotherapy Monday to Friday at our clinic located at 1220 Mair St, Lake Wendouree. Treatment can be tailored to suit all soft tissue injuries, including neck pain & headaches, sciatic pain, tendonitis & sports injuries. Massage appointments are available in time periods of 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes & treatment is claimable if appropriate Private Health insurance is held.
Hand Therapy is the art and science of rehabilitation of the upper limb. In our clinic our therapists treats the hand, wrist and some elbow conditions such as tennis elbow. It involves evaluation and testing to assess the injured limb from which a specific treatment program can be designed. A variety of specialised treatment techniques are used to achieve these goals.
