What a lovely tavern, nestled amongst the trees. Great outlook from the verandah.
The customer service was great, I always appreciate being acknowledged whilst I'm waiting to be served. A quick, ''I'll be with you shortly", goes a long way.
The food was fantastic... best rissole's I've had in a long time. Loved the caramelised onion gravy and creamy mash that went with it.
There was a special on the Great Northern, $7 for a pint. Cheap!
Quiet atmosphere... will certainly be going back!

My wife and I dined at Gap Tavern on a quiet weeknight in early Oct. The Gap Tavern is part of the ALH Group, whose stable includes the Brunswick Hotel, the famous Royal Exchange in Toowong, the Indooroopilly Hotel, the Newmarket, the Morrison and many other fab pubs around Brisbane. We’ve dined at a number of them and always found the standards to be consistently high. We’ve never been disappointed at an ALH Hotel, and the Gap Tavern was no exception.
We started with two refreshing cocktails, the espresso martini and the vodka and orange juice. They were both excellently made

I've heard from a few people that this is a lovely place to meet and have a meal with beautiful views of the hills and bush land surrounding the Tavern. It's been a long time since I had visited this tavern so I was looking forward to it.
However it was a disappointing visit to say the least.
We were strongly encouraged to use the app to view the menu and order. It's not my first time around the block with using this technology so it's easy to use and quick to order and pay so you can just leave at the end of the night.
However i had this feeling things were not working out with the kitchen

As long as this place has been open it's a shame the kitchen just doesn't create and serve more original fare. The restaurant almost has no peers in The Gap apart from Zegato's at The Ashgrove Golf Club and could easily own the suburb as almost every other food outlet is fast food. Yet, it's stuck in idle in this regard and lacklustre with typical "pub food." Now, there's nothing wrong with that, but a bit more adventure from the kitchen and plating prowess might just see those Gapians who've shunned it because of a stale menu return. And I would be one of

This place is amazing! My partner and I came here for his birthday, and the staff had put out balloons on our table and several people wished him a happy birthday. They were awesome, the food was fantastic and came out very quick. The waiters and host (Troydon was lovely and I think it was a Katie behind the bar?) were also incredibly accommodating and friendly. It was an hour drive to come to The Gap Tavern, but we will definitely be back.
Thank you so much for your hard work! We appreciate you!!

Last Saturday my boyfriend thought it would be a nice idea to go have a nice quiet dinner at The Gap Tavern. We probably would have had a more quiet night out at a Heavy Metal concert, there were kids up to 8 of them ranging from ages 8 to 12 running and screaming out in around and outside the tavern. Yes the tavern provides a children's area but these children were running around the tables in and out of the restrooms. What got my boyfriend and I was the fact that neither the parents or the staff did or said anything to stop all we saw was the staff rolling their eyes. We noticed how other people

Eaten there three times now. Every time has been excellent. Food was great, service was good. It's not a cheap pub, but it's not over-the-top either. Decor and ambience is really lovely. I'd recommend it to anyone.
I should note that, after seating, there is no table service. All orders must be done at the bar.

Waited 5 minutes to be seated, told there would be full table service, then waited 20 minutes and no one had come to take our order, not even for drinks. Noticed many other frustrated patrons walking out, so we decided to join them. Could have ordered and picked up a pizza in that time and would have had better service!
