We operate from 8am to 4pm, 48 weeks a year. There are 2 main preschool groups - the Monday and Tuesday group with an option to add Wednesday, and the Thursday and Friday group with an option also to add Wednesday. The Australian Government provides financial support for this long day care child care service under the Community Child Care Fund.

Kendall Community Preschool has been assessed and rated and has achieved an overall rating of 'Exceeding the National Standard', both in 2012 and again at the end of 2018. We are an accredited long day care service, licensed for 25 children aged between 3-5 years each day. Families are eligible to apply for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) through Centrelink.
The Staff and Management Committee of Kendall Community Preschool have developed a philosophy which we believe is unique and best reflects the ways in which we work with preschoolers. We have chosen to use the Principles of the Early Years Learning Framework to organise aspects of the philosophy and recognise that many areas overlap and are co-dependent.
The environment at Kendall Preschool is not just a place to learn, but we also see it as an important 'teacher' as well. Kendall Preschool's unique Learning Environments invite children to explore materials and spaces that engage their inner curiosity.
While the spaces are deliberately aesthetically pleasing and respectfully created, they are functional for preschool learners and encourage children to slow down, deeply explore, test, invent and wonder - which is the true work of preschoolers!Indoors, the rich learning environment incorporates places for children to work in small groups together to be creative, to read or count or build along with many other things!

We encourage interested families to call the preschool and arrange an appointment to visit, meet the staff and wander around the environment with Helen or Sooz as an informal opportunity to learn more about what we do and why. Kendall Community Preschool is a very unique place with a 'feel' and culture all of its own!
Kendall Community Preschool is deeply committed to developing the understandings that will encourage better choice-making for the world's environmental and sustainable future. The children of today will become tomorrow's leaders and they need to be equipped with a strong sense of responsibility and a lifelong attitude for action.
