It is with deep sadness and reluctance that we have to now temporarily close the doors of Mitcham Pet Hospital. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve the community for the past 39 years. Due to a massive shortage of veterinarians in Victoria and across the nation, we have been unable to secure veterinarians to work in the practice and keep our services open.
This problem has been apparent for several years and is getting worse. Practices across the state are desperately seeking veterinarians. We have tried to hang on for as long as possible not wanting to disappoint you, our clients. We cannot offer veterinary care without veterinarians; so, we have had to take this extreme measure.

Absolutely amazing Place for all your Pet/Animal needs. The team is fantastic and such nice freindly caring people. Dr. Hootan is very good and very experiened and will treat your pets just like his own. Its the positive, freindly environment and mood that really affects the animals experience which this place has and makes such a difference. Highly recommend 👍

I moved over to Mitcham Vet Hospital with the vet as he was so personable with not only myself but my dog also. He loves the vet where he’s always greeted with love, happiness and care.
When you take your dog to the vet, it’s not always for nice reasons so you want to make sure you find a vet who understands this and puts your animal at ease. They definitely tick these boxes here at Mitcham Vet Hospital!

Always glad and grateful to have Dr Hootan look after Udon my Samoyed. So much so we followed him to Mitcham Pet Hospital as we know Udon will always get the best care possible. I'm really happy with the excellent service that I received at Mitcham Pet Hospital. Dr Hootan was very caring and gentle with my dog who is old and was quite nervous and the nurses were very courteous and kind too. I can highly recommend this vet clinic, they'll take the best care of your pet.

You feel welcome from the time you walk in with your four legged babies. The nurses are friendly and evidently love animals.
My dogs love Hootan the vet. He is so gentle with them and he does a very good check up on them even though we were just there for their booster shots.
I was able to get some solid advice from Hootan with regards to one of my dogs continual behavioural issues which he seemed to have suffered during lockdown.
If you want your fur babies to receive good care from a vet that evidently does this profession because of his love for animals then pay this practice a visit. You

I took my new precious Cavalier puppy Teddy to Hooten Shar at Mitcham Pet Hospital for the first time this week. Hooten is a wonderful, very knowledgeable vet who is absolutely passionate about the health of animals. I know I have made the right choice about entrusting Teddy’s long term health to Hooten at Mitcham Pet Hospital. I highly recommend this Vet practice to everyone who has a pet and looking for an excellent and caring vet.

Dr Hootan Shah is the best veterinarian I have ever met. He and his team are very professional, friendly, kind, reliable and responsible. In my Cats early years this was her primary Vet and I always received good service here. Recently she passed and I rushed her here in an emergency and the ladies attended to her immediately. I really appreciate the condolence card I received, signed by all the staff, it meant a lot while I'm grieving my beautiful girl.

Thank you to the staff at Mitcham Pet Hospital. Our dog Chief had some surgery and the service we received was fantastic. Staff were so courteous, caring and provided Chief (and us) with great post surgery care and advice. I've never had a dog that races in to see the vet and staff. Thank you from us and Chief!
