Beautiful Silks
Marion Gorr started trading textiles in the 1980's. Her family tradition in textiles goes back a while, her mother was a professional dressmaker for many years and taught garment upcycling way back in the 70's in Hastings New Zealand at night school - when many beautiful handwoven tweeds were appearing as disgarded garments in op shops.

Growing up with such a background and spending most of her early years with grandmother Annie Wright who did fine needlework, crochet, lacemaking and dressmaking, instilled a love of the cloth and thread that is inculcated as an important part of life. The collections are now shared with you.
Services
At Beautiful Silks we are always working to eliminate plastic from our supply stream. We ask our suppliers not to pack each item in plastic bags, our supplies are packed in string tied bundles, with at the most one large plastic bag per box. The bags are recycled into other storage packages. If you dislike the wave of plastic that comes to you, you can now request an eco parcel.

Never responds tto any emails or querys so customer service is non existant ships by slowest possible method of australia post so expect ur shipments to arive atleast one month later or even month some even receive after 6 months for cost charged for shipping they should ship by fedex or ups and receive in 2 to 3 days anywhere in world for some reason the delebrately avoid fedex and ups and stick to aus post and even in that slowest possible method

I spent near $400 in satin sheets and 2 satin doonas. That was on the 02/10/2021. I only received the sheets. Everytime I contacte Ami she promised to send the doonas but she never did. $198 I am now contacted Consumer affaire to try and recover my money. Scumbags.

The people at Beautiful Silks are wonderful to deal with. I placed my order early yesterday morning then received an email from the in the afternoon telling me that my order had been sent. The emails was clear, concise and contained the information that I needed to track my parcel plus information relevant to their Facebook page, blog etc.

A gem. Truly amazing selection of silk threads, yarns, scarves, everything for the designer to use as their canvas. With an owner who is passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her product. Has occasional workshops.
