Laser engraving provides an excellent finish on glass and crystal products, allowing you to engrave detailed text, logos, photographs, etc.
Depending on your needs, we are pleased to offer both laser and rotary engraving services. The choice of using laser or rotary technology will largely depend on the final look/application you require. Laser marking on a metallic surface will result in a black finish - please see images below. Useful when a higher contrast between the metal and text is required, or extremely high detail (photographs or detailed logos).
Leather embossing has traditionally been done through a stamping process involving high pressure and heat. This technique is still utilised in factories at the production stage, however can be quite a lengthy and costly process if embossing a single item (stamp plate design and setup). Laser engraving is an extemely popular technique now used to engrave leather.
Melbourne City Engraving specialises in ring and bangle engraving. Our computerized engraving equipment ensures that you receive the highest quality engraving job, utilizing an industrial bit diamond grade engraving machine controlled by specialised software. The ring can normally be engraved within 30 minutes if urgent, or otherwise within the same day.

Was the only laser engraver in Melbourne willing to engrave a small artwork for me onto my earphones. He was very responsive to my emails, and the actual engraving took less than an hour and was done same day. Couldn't ask for more really. Turned out great!

Excellent workmanship and customer service. I'm really happy with the result. I have just had Phil from Melbourne City Engraving laser engrave a pair of wine glasses for a special birthday gift. I went there first to discuss what I wanted and Phil gave me really good advice about the type of wine glasses to purchase. When I returned with the wine glasses, he was helpful and patient as I decided on the fonts I wanted. The engraving / etching job that he did was excellent - exactly what I had in mind.
