Back & Neck Physiotherapy specialises in spinal pain and their consequences, such as sciatica or other referred symptoms - headaches, arm pain, pins and needles/numbness, etc. Often musculoskeletal problems, seemingly unrelated to the neck or back, and manifesting in the shoulder for example, or elsewhere in the periphery of the body, are in fact referred from the spine.
There's a right treatment for disc related problems and a right treatment for spinal joint problems: These include: mobilisation, manipulation, traction (spinal decompression therapy) postural re-education, advice on activities of daily living, ergonomics, corrective taping techniques and exercise rehabilitation.

A disk prolapse, bulging disc, herniated or slipped disc, occurs when the thick paste-like nucleus of the disc is pushed out through a tiny defect in the fibrous disk wall. This bulging nucleus can irritate the nerve root. Disc prolapses can occur from mid-teens onwards. Pain is usually eased by lying down, particularly on the non-painful side, and is often less in the morning after a nights rest.
Joseph Ross was the sole physio for the Western Bulldogs for two seasons and has a wealth of experience treating sports injuries. We treat all types of sports injuries, ranging from ACL tears in the knee to simple sprains of the ankle, which aren't always simple, to joint separations of the shoulder.
Neck, shoulder pain and headaches are a common problem with three-quarters of the population having these symptoms at some point in their lives. Problems in the neck can result in chronic or acute headaches, shoulder and arm pain, tennis elbow, pins and needles and numbness into the hand and fingers.
The non-spinal joints of the body are subject to wear and tear, arthritic conditions, fractures, sprains and strains. These normally ultra-smooth joint surfaces are then scored by these events and progressively worsen, becoming rougher and rougher. Inflammation follows, which in turn thickens the ligamentous capsule that all joints are within.

After having given birth to multiple children in a short period, I wanted to make sure that I was on the right track with strengthening my pelvic floor and closing my abdominal separation. I've now had a few sessions with Beth and wanted to praise her on her service and professionalism. She has helped me with my concerns and makes sure that I understand the reasoning behind the exercises and why they are important. She is always happy to answer questions and is very thorough during the consultation. Highly recommended.

I came here for upper back issues and receied a really thorough assessment and treatment plan. Within a few weeks of doing the stretches and exercises assigned I no longer had the same pain and stiffness. I've seen a few different people for physiotherapy and massages and can highly recommend Richmond Physiotherapy Clinic – they have a range of specialists and will cater the treatment to whatever works best. They're very thorough, friendly and have made feel assured and well cared for.

Having play sport my entire life I have experienced many physio's in my time - both good and bad. I have been going to see Beth here for the last 6 months who has rehabilitated a back injury that has plagued me for the last few years.
Whilst it's still not perfect Beth was able to initially treat it, then recommend a way to continue to strengthen my back and the area's around it.
I would highly recommend Beth if you are looking for a professional, knowledgeable physiotherapist.

I attended this clinic as a new client for a myotherapy appointment at 8 am on a Saturday morning. The appointment had been made a few days in advance and after arriving on time and waiting for more than 20 minutes I was told by the receptionist that the myotherapist hadnt arrived and she was unable to contact him. She suggested that I might as well leave.
I received no follow up call from the myotherapist or the clinic's management team to explain what happened or offer an apology for wasting my time. Clearly this clinic does not value new clients.

After a recommendation from a professional runner, Julia has helped me a number of times in the last couple of years. From a groin injury that is now 100% (even better than the side that wasn't injured!) to back pain that is painful no more, I can highly recommend Julia. Excellent in practice work followed by great suggestions for strengthening excercises between visits. She also recommended I take clinical pilates classes which I have now been enjoying for over a year.
