Harbour Lights
A hidden gem embracing the views of Hobart's picturesque waterfront, Harbour Lights has long been a haven for locals, foodies and tourists alike. Whether you prefer a satisfying big breakfast, a traditional scallop pie for lunch or authentic Italian cuisine for dinner, the Harbour Lights team can offer you an experience to be savoured. Team all this with a perfect coffee, leaf tea or choose from a menu of predominantly Tasmanian and Italian wines, beers and liqueurs.
Services
Robbie Marino, the brainchild behind the success that is Harbour Light's today, was born to humble immigrant parents that landed on Hobart shores by boat in the mid 50's. Robbie grew up eating traditional Italian food prepared by both his parents and the ingredients were mainly dictated by the vegetables growing in the garden.
Italian cooking has traditionally been about humility, simplicity and honesty and this is what inspires us. Our aim at Harbour Lights is to provide a relaxing environment for you to share a meal with family and friends. We use only the freshest seasonal produce and strive to provide attentive, friendly service.
Harbour Lights is a perfect venue for your next group booking and offers a variety of private dining options with seating for as few as 10 or as many as 40 guests. I held my 50th birthday party upstairs for about 40 people at Harbour Lights Cafe and I couldn't have asked for a better night. They were so obliging when it came to ordering the wines and food that I particularly wanted and were more than happy to ensure that I enjoyed the night.

As a solo diner I enjoyed my breakfast here so much I came back twice.
Service is friendly and efficient. The food, bacon Benedict, was delicious and the fresh sprouts on top was a nice touch.
Outdoor seating is nice on a warm day, but inside next to the window (upstairs or downstairs) is a great spot to enjoy your meal and people watch.

We loved the coffee shop until today. We were waiting 45mins for poached eggs and toast. When the food arrived the toast was cold and the butter was melted it. We are not coming again.

Really bad staff and services. 3 times she told that it won't be long although she did not look at me, and just a few tables left. OH MY GOD. The short hair girl with a glasses is really bad. This is a fist and last time I come there. so terrible with their behaviour then. YOU SHOULD SPEND YOUR TIME WITH OTHERS COFFEE shop IF you do not want to get a bad circumstances like mine.

Charming café that boasts lovely food, atmosphere, and friendly service. The staff appeared to know most customers (and their pets) by name, a sure-fire indicator of a great spot. My pancakes were delicious with great seasonal fruit and perfect portion size (nothing's worse than paying almost $20 for 1-2 little underwhelming pancakes that are inexpensive to make). I loved that the cream, maple syrup and ice-cream were served in little dishes - nothing worse than it all melting into one puddle, great plating. My only complaint would be that the food took about half an hour to come out, a bit long

Only downfall it can get quite loud upstairs, but other than that a great restaurant/Cafe.

Popped in for a coffee and bacon and egg roll, fabulous service and great food!
The view back over the Hobart wharf district also adds to the experience.
A strong recommend from me!

Excellent breakfast spot. We liked all the meals and drinks we ordered. It's a nice location with views (I suggest a reservation if you want a table with views). We were surprised by just how quickly the drinks arrived with the meals hot on their heels despite being quite busy. The only negative was that it was really quite noisy inside
..but I didn't remove a star as the noise seemed to be mostly due to a table with boisterous kids.... perhaps it's not always noisy!

Unfortunately today I had the worst experience ever on a coffee shop. I went to harbour lights a couple of times and the service the coffee and the food have always been lovely, reason why I always went back and I recommended the place to all the guests at the hotel where I work in the area. Well, this was not the case today. Went there with my… fiance and the coffe and the service were not at the same level as always. - First I ordered a large cappuccino extra hot. The girl brought me a coffee that looked like a latte, pretty much no foam and super milky, I asked to have it less milky and

Food was beautiful as always. I came here on my last tassie holiday 3 years ago and had to come back. I've since had a gastric sleeve and can't eat much, but every bite I could fit in was fantastic. Definitely my favourite little Cafe in Hobart
