Services
These are the cleaners that plug into your skimmer box such as Kreepy Krauly and Baracuda. The suction generated from your pool pump provides the power source. They start working whenever your pump switches on and generally move randomly around your pool. The more advanced suction cleaners have a smart steering system to guide them around the pool.
Media filters are basically a tank filled with either sand, crushed glass or crushed volcanic rock. Sand is by far the most common, however crushed glass media is growing in popularity due to the fact it filters finer, lasts longer and uses less water when back washing. In normal backyard situations, sand should be changed every five years, whereas glass can last up to ten years.
The E-Series are small capacity pumps that provide reliable performance for smaller pools and older pools where basic equipment may only be required. Standards of quality and durability are retained with a reduced output and a budget price. The CTX Series pumps have been designed to comfortably meet the increasing needs of the more sophisticated equipment used in modern pools today.
Gas heaters are great if you need fast heat up times and particularly if you have natural gas connected. Electric heaters are cheaper to purchase, but more expensive to run and are predominately suited to spas. Heat pumps are the most efficient (the power output is 4-5 times the power input), but are slower to heat the pool.
A salt water chlorinator is by far the most popular method of sanitizing your pool. The concept has been around for many years, and it is probably the simplest and most convenient way to keep your pool healthy. When selecting a salt water chlorinator, you should take some time to ensure you are getting what you need.

Aaron came out and completely changed my green cloudy pool into a sparkling crystal clear gem. I walked out after Aaron had left and could not believe what I now saw. Steve came to do a maintenance of my pool and clean. Steve was absolutely AMAZING! His knowledge of EVERYTHING about pools was astounding. Updated review: Soon after I posted the first review, Active Pool Supplies called me back. Yay! Coincidence? I don't know, but I'm just happy they called me back. They were very nice, but in the end, there wasn't much they could do. They referred me to the manufacturer, who also couldn't really help, but they referred me to a local pool supplier that will need to come to my house to trouble shoot my cell and system -- for the small sum of $95. Yikes! But, I'm a believer in second chances and redemption, therefore I'll cautiously revise my rating. I will trust
