After leaving the family glass business (Sassall Glass) in 1995, Mick worked as a carpenter, then Foreman on multimillion dollar residential homes from Sydney Harbour to Palm Beach for 7 years. It was during his time working on these projects that his enthusiasm for quality Carpentry, superior finishes and getting things done 'the right way' was ignited.
While learning from many industry experts, Mick has built a number of internationally acclaimed Architect Alex Popovs' designs. This experience, along with time spent working with many other quality tradesmen has afforded Mick skills that have proven to be invaluable in all that he does. In 2002 Mick moved back to Wollongong to start a family and his own business now named Sassall Group Pty Ltd.
