Ocean View Motel in Bowen is managed onsite by your Hosts: Col Young and his friendly Team. The Motel complex has 12 rooms total, 2 Family size with a queen, trundle and bunk beds and 10 DeLuxe standard rooms with a Queen and King single bed. There is an onsite pool. Bowen is located on the North East Coast of Queensland Australia, Approximately 1140kms north of Brisbane and 550kms south of Cains.

Im giving this place a 5 based on its location and the service alone. The rooms themselves are tired and outdated but the bed is still comfortable. The whole place could do with a make over to modernise it but other than that it was lovely.

This is a great motel so convenient to access Bowen or Bruce Highway north or south bound. It is an older motel but all facilities are great, lots of parking for larger vehicles or car with trailer or van.. the owner who runs the motel is awesome, friendly good old fadhion service. Nothing is too difficult however I must mention the evening dinner I ordered. 🙂😜
It was brilliant five star presentation, hot when delivered to my room as well. I ordered reef fish!! Wow highly recommended if you like a white flesh reef fish fresh as with no bones and cooked to perfection.. the chips were fantastic

The only good thing about this motel is the view. When we arrived the owners children were in the room? No move on their part to give the room a once over...covid! The bathroom is a disgrace..no door!!!.mould and paint peeling off the walls.Our smoke alarm went off from the shower so the owner removed it from the room. Totally illegal. It's a dog friendly motel I didn't know that and wouldn't have stayed if I'd realized. Keep driving

Yes, a lovely ocean view from my pillow, no less 🙌🏻 Dated, but exceptionally clean, soft towels, hot and strong shower, comfortable bed and pillows. Had a lovely fresh smell…not always in an old motel 👍🏻 Fully equipped, really pleasant stay. Let’s keep these places alive 🥰

The rooms are clean & some are pet friendly, it also offers late check in.
It's located right off the highway and a short walk to the big Mango.
The staff were really accommodating and provided information on the local area.

My wife and I stayed early Sept 2020. The location is brilliant... it’s right there n the highway and despite initial concerns about noise we didn’t notice anything during the evening. The parking for motorcycles 🏍 was excellent.... out of view of the main road and right at the back door under cover so we didn’t have to unpack. Col was very… friendly and helped out with extra milk 🥛. The next morning we were on the highway in about 20 seconds (and after an obligatory shot of the Big Mango 🥭) we were on our way. It’s a little dated but no complaints

Simple and beautiful clean room can order dinner to eat here, have hot breakfast. 5 mins to the centre of Bowen for a late night run to maccas for apple pie and soft serve. host offers a courtesy drop off into town, but make your own way back. Lots of traffic.
