Massage Bowen Therapy
I specialise in the treatment of muscular aches and injuries, and draw on a variety of skills, including Remedial (Deep Tissue) Massage, Relaxation Massage, Bowen Therapy, and Emmett Technique. My treatments are tailored to reduce pain and discomfort, increase mobility and provide a relaxing and nurturing experience.

Health fund rebates apply. I continue to review and learn other skills to maximise my effectiveness as a therapist, I am committed to providing the best possible treatment, and refer clients to other specialists if it is in their best interest, or helps speed their recovery.

Maureen Barry is a fully qualified soft tissue therapist who is known throughout the Albury/Wodonga region for her 'healing hands'. Maureen specialises in four modalities - Bowen Therapy, Remedial (Deep Tissue) Massage, the Emmett Technique, and Relaxation Massage, and employs the use of Hot Stones to enhance the healing benefits of her therapy.
Bowen Therapy is a gentle muscle release technique that is used for re-alignment, restoration, and relaxation. It is an helpful treatment for a wide variety of conditions, both acute and chronic. Maureen Barry is fully qualified in the Bowen technique and has been delivering this unique, hands-on healing treatment for many years.
Maureen Barry offers a range of massage therapies for those living in the Albury/Wodonga region. All massages are tailored to suit your specific needs. Therapeutic Massage uses long flowing strokes, kneading, pressure, and friction to encourage circulation and blood flow, which in turn releases toxins, and provides nutrients and oxygen to soft tissue and improves movement.
The Emmett Technique is a complementary therapy that is used to assist in the relief of pain and discomfort and improve movement. It is a non-invasive, safe and simple muscle release therapy that usually produces immediate results. The technique was developed in Australia by Remedial Therapist Ross Emmett and is now used throughout the world by soft tissue therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, doctors, nurses, and physios to treat patients.
By Dr Kenny CW Ng, MBBS BMedSci DipRM CertIVFitness, Member Australian Association of Massage Therapy, in collaboration with Professor Marc Cohen, School of Health Sciences, RMIT University. Multiple studies provided good evidence supporting the effectiveness of massage therapy in managing anxiety, stress and promoting relaxation.
