The Scoliosis Collective
We started offering scoliosis treatments in Canada in 2016 as The ScoliClinic. Although we're operating under a different name in Australia, our services are the same. Collectively, our teams strive to deliver the highest quality, '7-star' physiotherapy treatment to clients with Scoliosis and Scheuermann's Kyphosis on the west coast of Canada and the east coast of Australia.

We're dedicated to treating children, teens, and adults with these spine conditions by focusing on the physical AND emotional components, and treating each person as a whole. Our team of Schroth-trained therapists advocate for conservative treatment approaches by providing curve-specific treatment, and educating our clients, our peers, and the public on the importance of early identification and early treatment.
Services
A week later, the X-Ray results show a 38° C-shaped curve in your child's spine. The doc says there's a 9-month wait to see a specialist at Children's Hospital, and the only thing you can do now is 'wait and see'. Google shows pages of mixed advice about scoliosis and other spinal deformities - the anxiety of the unknown becomes overwhelming.
We create unique connections with each of our clients, to hear their needs, both spoken and unspoken. We appreciate the complexity of scoliosis and how emotional our clients' journeys may be. By learning more about the role of emotions and thoughts in pain management, self-confidence, and treatment plan adherence, we aim to address the patient as a whole, not just a spine.
Whatever your background is - physiotherapy, myotherapy, remedial massage therapy, business, hospitality, management - The Scoliosis Collective values growth in any position in the company. There are many opportunities to take on more responsibilities, head your own projects, and satisfy your personal and professional growth.
Our Schroth-trained Therapists will provide you with the tools you need to take charge of your spine health. Idiopathic Scoliosis can be classified as Juvenile (ages 4-10 years old at diagnosis) or Adolescent (ages 11-18). Scoliosis more commonly affects females than males, but the curve is more likely to progress in females.
Idiopathic Scoliosis affects 3% of all children, and is typically identified when a child is 8-10 years old (Juvenile Idiopathic Scoliosis), or 12-14 years old (Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis). As your child's skeleton is still growing, there is a higher risk of progression and therefore it's more urgent to seek treatment as soon as your child is diagnosed with scoliosis.

A diagnosis of Scoliosis can be daunting and very overhhelming but Alex has helped to educate my family and especially my teen daughter about the condition. In doing so she has helped with her confidence and empowered her to take control about what she can do to live with the condition and prepare for eventual surgery. Alex is both an inspiration and comfort for my daughter; her care, expertise and beautiful nature are what every parent dreams of for their child's health practioners. Alex has communicated closely with my daughter's surgeon and it is clear he also respects her immesley. If you want

I had all-but given up hope for any improvement to the debilitating state I was living in prior to my first appointment. My husband found TSC online and nudged me to make an appointment. This was almost a year ago, and I have been travelling up to 4hrs round trip to attend appointments - that's how much I have gained from my treatment. I now have pain-free days, feel stronger, and am equipped with exercises and stretches tailored specifically to me.
I was really impressed with the initial assessment on my spine/structure prior to commencing my own treatment plan. Using the latest technology I

My son’s orthopaedic surgeon recommended Alex to us when he was first diagnosed with scoliosis. Alex has been invaluable in supporting my son’s physical preparation for surgery and now in the post operative phase. Alex is extremely knowledgeable about scoliosis and has provided excellent support to my son. Highly recommended

Scoliosis is not something we tend to talk about but it’s implications are life long and far reaching for the person from posture, breathing, weakened muscles, body image and even energy levels. Having a few extra not the “normal curves” can be unsettling… but this is where The Scoliosis Collective can assist! Alex has been such a blessing after many years of trying to make sense of my curvature! Alex has helped immensely! I now understand my scoliosis, I know the how, why and what. I have relevant and suitable warm ups and exercises I can do at home and I also know what movements not to

I was referred to Alexane to help me with my 45degree curvature of my spine and I have received wonderful support and guidance. I live in Adelaide and we have been working via Zoom with a planned trip to QLD in the near future to do some intensive work. I feel very confident about an ongoing plan to manage my Scoliosis and I highly recommend anyone seeking to get help to get in touch to see what's possible!

I was recommended to the clinic for my son, it’s over an hours drive for us to get there but as they were highly recommended I took him. Yes they were helpful and recommended that we needed quite a few consultations. I became unwell and rang more than 24 hours prior to his appointment to cancel/reschedule but was told I would need to pay a 30%… cancellation fee. I said I couldn’t afford to waste money and said should I bring him anyway even though I’m sick. I was told yes to bring him, so I sat in their waiting room coughing while they had other patients because they wanted

I'm going to start with the warm and fuzzy - Alex can relate. Her own experiences gained my 13 year old daughter's (and my) trust and loyalty immediately in a time that was particularly scary and daunting. Alex is amazing with young people, inspiring my otherwise less active daughter to exercise literally every day. She does not want to let Alex down!
My daughter developed a severe curve in such a short amount of time by the time I saw it, I knew surgery was her only option. On our first visit to our spinal specialist, HE recommended Alex to help prepare my daughter for surgery.

When our daughter was diagnosed with Scoliosis by our GP we did not have any idea where to go for any help or treatment except that physio would be a good idea. We took our daughter to a local physio that we knew & he prescribed certain exercises for her but thankfully he recognised that more specific treatment was required & referred us to The Scoliosis Collective. Immediately we could see this was the perfect place for our daughter to get treatment & support. Alexane is not only incredibly knowledgeable about scoliosis but she is also able to offer advice from the point of view of someone who

After much research on how best to support my daughter and her journey with scoliosis, we found The Scoliosis Collective. Alexane has been amazing. Her knowledge and caring nature has supported us and provided the skills for my daughter to learn about her own spine and exactly what's going on in her body. This knowledge and the provided scoliosis specific exercises has given my daughter the confidence and reassurance that she needed during this challenging time. I would highly recommend Alexane to anyone facing their own scoliosis journey. Thank you Alexane!

I was diagnosed with scoliosis as an adult after having back pain on and off for years. Spent a year working intensively with another Physio on the Coast with some success. Was referred to The Scoliosis Collective and Alexane due to her speciality in this area. I regret not meeting her earlier.
Alexane and Bianca (Scoliosis Myotherapist) have helped me immensely. Their approach is evidence based and personalised to my needs. It helps knowing that they personally know what it’s like to have scoliosis. Their treatment methods are a combination of hands on, home exercises and education about what

I started seeing Alexane 3.5 years ago, a few months after having spinal surgery. I will be forever grateful for all the help she has given me. Not only is Alex extremely educated on scoliosis and spinal treatment, it was also comforting to be treated by someone who had also experienced scoliosis themselves. Alex has not only provided me with continuous physiotherapy, but has also created numerous programs over the years for at-home exercise and muscle strengthening. Overall, I highly recommend The Scoliosis Collective for anyone with scoliosis.

I began seeing Alex at the Scoliosis Collective about 4 months ago with the intention to prevent the need for surgery and to decrease my pain and symptoms. Alex has honestly been incredible. She is so knowledgeable and has such a deep understanding of scoliosis and all the factors associated with it that she applies to all aspects of her treatment. Having her own personal experience with scoliosis makes her very empathetic and understanding, and she takes the time to explain everything and has made sure that as the patient, I understand my own condition and how I can look after myself in the best
