Came here for a Mother's Day dinner and ordered the calamari for the entree and had the steak, lamb rump and fish for the mains. The mains are about $40/each.
Ambience wise the restaurant is quite nice. Has that fine dining restaurant feel to it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating which I really appreciated.
The problem was with the food. For the price and based on previous reviews I read when choosing to book the place, I expected better. The food was not bad, but was it $40+ good? I don't think so. Would I recommend this place? Probably not.

So refreshing to find a pleasant restaurant on Mothers Day that does not have a set menu at an exorbitant price and allows you to choose from the normal a la carte menu.
Ambience is good with walls of mirrors making the room appear even bigger (upstairs)
Staff were friendly and professional. Food was tasty.
Slight disappointment was the soufflé that was the most expensive dessert on the menu and looked good from the outside, yet was runny and like undercooked batter on the inside - had to leave it.
There are also a couple of nice function rooms for private events.

Nice and pleasant place with a great food. The waiters were very attentive and the service was extremely efficient. We had a function and we used the function room upstairs. The room was not bad, but could do a bit better, to have the sophisticated feel we were after. The finess and the "whoomph" were missing for the 5 star rating.Very pleasant place with delicious food in Toorak.

We visited Quaff in 2013 and 2016. Little has changed. The ambience is pleasant, not too noisy, reasonably spaced double clothed tables and pleasant accommodating staff. The decor is the same with a rather grubby doormat featuring a large Q at the entrance.
Of course the menu has changed but quality and presentation of the food is well above average but not exciting- good food well cooked. Service was slow and there was a small error on the bill.

€Quaff” is undeniably the best place in Melbourne for Soufflé, to which they always have sweet and savoury options. Reliable and unbeatable.

Excellent food and service, nicely designed place, upmarket feel and very attentive waiters. All three dishes I had were exceptional and well balanced. The pork belly nice and tender with crispy top, Kangaroo fillet also very tender, not gamey at all with a nice rich sauce and their version of Eton Mess looked fabulous with some tasty little meringues...helpings were not large but sufficient.

I enjoyed a quiet refined lunch at Quaff today, I wanted to try the set menu lunch and see if it was value for money, and it was indeed very good value for money.

I chose the twice baked curry and goats cheese soufflé
green chilli yoghurt for my entree and for my main I chose classic corned beef
braised cabbage, seeded mustard jus and a glass of house red.

The two courses were beautifully presented and tasted even better, with wonderful rich perfect flavors, I really enjoyed my lunch I will be back again to try other items off the set lunch menu.

The set lunch menu cost is:-

With some local (well from Adelaide - 8 hours drive away) friends we drove to this upscale suburb and looked for a nice lunch spot - after a little exploration we settled on Quaff and what a great choice it was! Three of us had lunch combo's and the fourth took the fish pie which looked amazing. I had the twice-baked spinach and goat cheese soufflé followed by the fried whiting, fries and salad (with a glass of the house white) followed by a peach crumble pie and custard dessert. All great!

After my thimble sized latte at breakfast this morning I was having caffeine withdrawal - normally
